I've recently had that tense experience of nearly wetting myself and leaking a couple of times. 

I don't usually leak unless it's really an emergency. That day I was planning to pee in the public, things didn't go according to plan and it almost caused an accident. Had to work the rest of the shift in wet panties

I like more to see how the urine stain begins to form little by little. It excites me more to see the moment where the pressure is stronger than the person's will to hold the urine. The first leaks are usually without absolute control, because later by the time the stain has grown too much, the person no longer strains to pee.

Thank you for posting this! I think leaking is extremely hot and undoubtedly the single most important element missing from most desperation/wetting videos. It also makes the video so much more realistic. Way too many otherwise great desperation vids are ruined (at least for me) because the model is seemingly doing everything possible not to leak, and then in the end is obvious about having to try to pee her pants. It's both a turn-off and the complete opposite of what would make the scenario actually seem realistic. To me, the best desperation vids by far are those where the model is squirming around trying not to pee, but nonetheless leaks pee bit by bit in waves (which, in my experience, is what really happens when someone trying to hold it starts losing the battle). The flood at the end isn't even necessary. When I see a great, realistically done desperation vid with leaking, I don't even make it to the flood anyway 🙂

A small wet patch actually ups the stakes; it's not just about making it to a toilet in time, it also undermines confidence in doing so, and adds the challenge of hiding both the patch and any other physical signs of embarrassment from others.

A large wet patch / full on soaking switches the emphasis from "find a bathroom" to "damage control" which feels more like a related but separate thing to me.
