Whenever you want. You can choose to do that as battle prep or mid battle, however the longer you take to prepare, the more time your opponents get.

Chapter 2.1:

【Main Story:】
【Tempest 1: World of Windsworn】
【Trial 1: Traveler from Rhina (1)】

You select your heroes to help aid you in battle, they're all lined up before you, awaiting your orders. Your group is talking amongst themselves while you plan out a strategy for this battle. The left group seems to be very dangerous, however they also appear to be an easy enough target for you to go after. 

After choosing your first targets you look back to see your units. Monie and Nyrtale are off to a side talking to eachother. 

"You, you're quite the specimen you know. Everyone else of us when we exclude our commander is from here. You're from somewhere else." Nyrtale states as he looks at Monie, examining her dragonstone and outfit. "There are thousands of versions of ourselves, and thousands of the world we come from. But you are from even beyond the Far Lands."

"01010001 00110010 01101000 01111001 01001100 01101001 01000010 01000111 01100001 01010111 01111000 01101100 01100011 01111001 00110100 01100111 01010100 01010101 01000110 01010100 01001001 01000110 01011001 01110101 01010100 01110111 00111101 00111101" Monie replies. "That is my memory of where I originate. However that's not important to me. All that matters is that I am free from that prison, and am now in a world where Ai can possibly reach me." She swipes the dragonstone out of his hand. "And don't touch this again. It's a gift more precious than life."

You look around at the rest of your units, Hira is sitting on the pier of the town. Her neck is wrapped tightly with green tinsel and she is playing Five Finger Filet with her santoku. Hira's fingers are scarred and bloodied, but you pay her less attention as you see the remaining two units talking with eachother. 

"You should probably stop bouncing around so much, we have an upcoming battle to prepare for." Mare-Nave (90%) says to Linasi. 

"Um, alright then. I can do that." Linasi replies with a slightly shaky voice. She stops her legs from moving and puts her staff somewhat between them. You notice that her face is a bit red and her limbs are wobbling. 

After listening in a bit on your allies' conversations, you instruct them to attack the group of the Bow Fighter and Thief. You rush through the open streets towards them, and then instruct your units to attack, calling for Mare-Nave to focus the Bow Fighter, and for Hira and Monie to focus the Thief.

Your heroes run into the left side alley, and confront the Bow Fighter and Thief. As they reach them, Monie rises up into the air like usual. She once again looks down on the Bow Fighter a bit worried. She then puts her fingers into their gun shape before swooping down and executing the Thief. The red, blue, and green blast piercing straight through him, dealing 23 damage. She then rises back up and braces herself for an arrow. After the Thief falls down, Linasi attempts to hold herself still while she fires a Strike from her staff. It flies forwards and hits the Bow Fighter, dealing 8 damage. He then picks out an arrow and counterattacks. His arrow hits Linasi in the arm, dealing 7 damage. After they trade hits, Hira steps forwards. She rolls up her left sleeve, revealing hundreds of knife wounds. She spins her knife in hand and slices down her forearm. The Festive Santoku glows in a malicious red-black, and she then throws it forwards. The knife cuts through the air and the Bow Fighter, dealing 50 damage. Hira then clutches her arm as she takes 35 damage. She then slowly picks her knife back up.

You have two, but haven't bought any healing spells for Linasi, and Nyrtale can only learn them through sacrificing heroes.

Shoot for the cleric/red knight/axe fighter group.
Monie rushes down the Cleric, Mare-Nave handles the knight with Nyrtale hitting it first, and then the axe fighter with the rest of the group + Monie.

I'd prefer stocking the diapers for our melee heroes, if Linasi can't hold her pee it isn't our problem she has wet panties the rest of this chapter.

Speed it up? Of course.
- Bladder can be sped up in one of two ways.
 - Using Skills.
 - Using stat boosting items.

And currently:
Linasi: 10
Monie/Nyrtale: 6
Mare-Nave: 3
Hira: 1

Well, there's other ways such as drinking water and other less gameplay impactful things.

Ah good, lucked out. I assumed by "won't take kindly" it meant some outright refuse until they've had enough accidents and accept it temporarily or are desperate enough to take the 3rd option.

There's seven levels of attitude towards this item, among with many other items. 
Monie's response is roughly a four.

Some will outright refuse, and others may dislike it if they don't receive it.

So I assume some can additionally "soften" their response to being ordered to equip one...
Well, this'll be fun to figure out. Hopefully this "will they use it or not" can be predicted from dialogue etc later, I honestly had no chance of beyond guessing it feels.

Remember that you as their commander can speak, you can write things in quotes if you want to say something along those lines directly. Also, you can soften or harden the response in a few ways which I will not tell you.

But yea. With many characters on the seven or six spectrum, it should be easy enough to tell if they will accept it.

"We don't have as much time as you say we do Commander. I believe the enemy may attempt to break through our defenses while we are weakened." She says, combatting your stance on the issue.
