So I replied to another post about a time I peed in a hotel bed and my experience and thought I'd make it its own topic.  As a bedwetter this was a genuine accident and not staged or on purpose.  I would not purposefully pee in a hotel or anyone else's bed.  So here it is:

How did it go when you told the hotel staff you’d peed in the bed?

Better than one would expect.  I was in my mid to late 20's when it happened.  I usually wear a pull-ups to bed when I am not sleeping at my place or my moms place.  But for what ever reason that time I just went to bed in my boxers and basketball shorts.

After realizing what I had done I got out the bed and got the wet sheets off the bed.  Thankfully the mattress cover was a protect-a-bed product.  Not a plastic bedwetter cover but apparently waterproof as the mattress was not wet under where I had peed. That was a big WHEW!!!!.

I bundled/folded up the wet sheets and folded the mattress cover so that the wet area was on the inside of the folding and them placed it at the foot of the bed with the folded wet sheets on top, again trying to fold so the wet area was on the inside.   I am not a heavy bedwetter so the wetness was confined to an area just bigger than the size of my body mid section.

I wrote a note to the person who had to clean my room explaining what happened and that I was sorry.  I also left a $10 tip for the trouble.  Now here is the twist, this was the first of a three night stay.  So I struggled in my mind, do I tell someone at the front desk or not.  Will the note and tip be enough.  Will I be called over to the front desk when I got back later that day to ask me about the bedwetting?  In the end and since I would be there several days I decided to tell the front desk about my accident on the way out.

The person was really kool about it.  I approached when it was just the front desk guy there and I just kinda said, "Uhm, I kinda wet your bed last night.  The mattress didn't get wet but I folded th wet sheets and stuff and have them at the foot of the bed.  I left a note for housekeeping but I wasn't really sure what to do so I wanted to tell you incase I needed to pay extra or something. "  At first he had a kinda slight look of shock, not judgment just shock.  but he went right into oh don't worry about a thing.  We can let housekeeping know so they can clean your room first and have fresh bedding for you.  He even pointed out that they used a non plastic water resistant mattress protector at the hotel just in case situations like this happen, and that I was not the first person who had wet one of their beds.

As someone that works at a hotel I can tell you this happens more often than you would think. I can also tell you it's just as awkward for us as it is you when you tell us. But it's no worries we just have housekeeping change the pad and sheets

Thanks for that.  I total felt soooooo embarrassed having to tell the dude about what I had done.  I can only imagine how awkward it was for him, but I must say he was so professional about the whole situation.  And added info, when I returned to my room that day the room was made up as if nothing happened.  Only thing different I noticed was there there were two of the protect a bed mattress covers on the bed and a set of extra sheets was left on he dresser sorta thing.

I had a friend tell me he wet a hotel bed similar to your story. It was in 2020 tho so the hotel didn’t do any real housekeeping due to Covid so he just asked them for extra bedding and when it came in a big plastic bag he just changed the dry sheets with the wet ones and put the plastic bag in the hall. Nothing was said to him and he said nothing to them. We often wonder what the hotel thought.

I can answer this one aswell 🤣🤣  most hotels even super large ones outsource the laundering of bedding and just do the Terry in-house. The ones that do it in-house just either put it down a laundry shoot and then it just goes inside a big pile. The one thing I will add is depending on when in covid it happens lol.... that might have been super gross by the time they opened the bag. Alot of properties quarantined guest laundry and such so it would have just said that back anywhere from a couple days or a week. That was probably gross...but atleast by that point they would have no idea who it is.

Thanks for sharing.  Glad I am not the only dude who has peed in a hotel bed.  Least your friend didn't have to directly tell the people he had wet the bed, just needed fresh sheets.

That what I was worried about when he told me. Maybe he should have told them?? But since Covid he didn’t so I hope they never find out it was him.

your definitely not the only. And my friend was 21 when it happened, due to him drinking. Maybe he should have told them though but nothing can be done now. Thanks Covid.

I once wet the bed accidentally. I had too much to drink the night before, and woke up in soaked yellow sheets. I came clean, and told the housekeeper what happened, she wasn’t very happy

That was always my biggest fear when i was in my accidents stage of drinking that i would wet a hotel bed. Well done to you for telling them and having the nerve. I think i would have run out like a coward without saying anything to avoid that reaction.
