The death of pornhub

Recommended Posts

Why does this have the male tag applied to it?

Anyway, I understand why they're doing this. But the fact that they're only allowing verified content creators to upload content will certainly reduce the number of uploads the site sees going forward. I imagine it will become difficult to become verified, or "properly identified users" as they call it, if you're not already one.

I don't think it's the end of PH necessarily, but it will likely look very different in 2021.

Yeah i've just seen this and I'm very concerned. It seems like the bulk of omorashi/omutsu videos on PH are pornhub community or otherwise unspecified -- are we losing all of those? That seems like a lot of lost content.

They're basically already lost as of today. If it's not original content posted by the creator of the page it's gone

Interesting I have been wondering myself. Is it a content-related purge? I've seen MANY of my favorite CHANNELS banished in the last month or so and was wondering why.

I don't log on as much anymore but it's not accepting my log in info and even after resetting my password my account was locked. I looked it up and all my vids are gone, including ones of myself. Well, that's upsetting.

Unverified accounts are being targeted..I would imagine cases like VanCanto99, you'd be able to have the vids of yourself put back if you verify your account but yea...any vidoes of like old twitter or tumblr or whatever videos that were ripped by people and uploaded, say bye bye

Actually, more verified profiles have disappeared along with their content... liketopiss for example

Motherboard reports that all previously uploaded videos are now being pulled “pending verification and review” beginning in 2021. source
Which means maybe some now lost content will show up again on pornhub during the next year... I wouldn't bet on it though.

The era with absolute freedom on the internet is over. You can see it everywhere. Maybe 5 years ago I could find any movie or TV-series that I wanted, just by a simple google search. Now I really have to dig to find anything at all. Sad! Even if I am willing to pay, because I have full understanding for creators and their rights, but the consequence is just that it isn't available anymore.

According to the British press it because of allegations made by The New York Times of child porn on the site

Mhm. Led to some high profile public supporters (ex. Bill Ackman) and visa, am ex deciding to suspend use of their cards on the site.

The wild west of the internet might be over but its definitely a good thing for the long run and I fully support what they are doing. As do most of the non-Omo (and some of the Omo) content creators I follow on Twitter, I think its largely seen as a good thing from inside the industry.

Its sad to see genuine accounts disappear but hopefully they will return in time once the teething issues are gone. But given the reasons why it is probably safer to go overkill at the start and then start relaxing a little bit.

Plus...If you think about it, it could make videos cheaper to buy.

Content producers especially niche ones like those that sell Omo content have had to take into consideration pirated versions of their videos when they set a price. If the price is set low and someone sticks it online for free after 10 sales, they might not make much money. So they have to set prices based on the assumption of it eventually ending up online for free, so sell it for a higher price to cover costs. Its why I think a lot of sites have subscription models as well as pay per videos that are typically a little more expensive. Or at least that's my understanding / thoughts (I could be wrong).

If you / I think of all the "free" videos ive watched on the now removed accounts, it probably outweighs what I have paid for 100 times. So im hoping that this might make content producers happier to sell at a lower price now the largest porn sight on the internet is taking moderating its content seriously. It also reduces the risk of putting their videos on Pornhub for free, since people cant just download and reupload them on their own accounts.
