Any Women Here Had to Escort Younger Male Relatives to the Restroom While Not Getting to Go Yourself?

Recommended Posts

I guess this is another one of those stories that hits on my personal pet peeve of situations where men can go to the bathroom when I didn't get the opportunity to do so. This concerns an incident that when I was younger I remember going with my younger cousin to a carnival or an amusement park of some kind. When I was younger it was frequently a situation where my boy cousins were able to use the bathroom before I got to go to the bathroom, but this was a particularly frustrating situation because I had to watch my younger cousin at all times and take care of his needs while ignoring my own, and I am sure that there are probably a lot of women who can relate to this type of situation.

This was when I was younger but I was still older than my other cousin by about four years. I went with him and my other cousin to an amusement park but over the course of the day we sort of split up because my other cousin wanted to go on like a longer ride or something like that that we didn't really have any interest in, so I agreed to watch my little cousin, or in his case his younger brother, while he went on the ride. Well it was one of those rides where it was like an insanely long way to get on the ride like probably like a half hour or an hour or something like that. It was experiences like this which were probably why I didn't really like amusement parks as much when I was younger because waiting an hour just to get on one ride was always sort of a pain in the ass and not worth it.

But while my cousin was waiting for that ride I was given the task of escorting his little brother/my younger cousin around the amusement park. Now over the course of that we were drinking a whole lot (huge sodas) and naturally when you are drinking a whole lot and stay well hydrated at some point you're going to have to go to the bathroom. Unfortunately I had to be with my younger cousin that all times and basically continue to watch him so I couldn't just slink off to go to the bathroom on my own.

At first the urge wasn't terrible but as time went on it got worse and worse to the point where I was getting to the point where I was actively desperate. However I continued escorting my cousin around and as insane as it sounds he actually wanted to play one of those games where you squirt water into the clown's mouth to win a prize, yes really, so I had to basically stand there and watch while he did that while trying to ignore the fact that I had to pee! But for the next hour or so I basically had to escort him around the amusement park with a full bladder while he went on all sorts of rides and played all sorts of games.

The thing that was really just a smack to the face and the way I see it, is after walking around with him at this amusement park with a full bladder for nearly an hour, he complains that he really has to pee and asked if we can go to the bathroom. So then I have to basically escort him to the bathroom and wait outside of the boys bathroom while he goes inside. There was a bit of a line for the boys bathroom but he was relatively quick. But basically the thing that was really just an affront to my dignity was basically the fact that I had to stand there with a full bladder outside of the boys bathroom waiting for my younger cousin to relieve himself, and then he comes out and I can't just get in line for the ladies room and leave him by himself. So basically I have to stay with him until I can meet up with my other cousin, but of course and my little cousin starts running off and we get lost for a while, the whole time with my bladder very very full with the contents of that huge soda. Then when we finally find my other cousin there is a huge line for the ladies room and I end up having to wait probably like a half hour to use the ladies room after having to wait for my cousin to relieve himself earlier.

So my question here is as any woman ever had to deal with a younger male relative getting to go to the bathroom when they didn't get to? Again when you are the older one you are expected to just sort of put up with things, but it was really very annoying that you have to actively escort your younger cousin to get him to the bathroom while having to basically ignore your own desire to relieve yourself. I figure this is probably something a lot of people have dealt with with younger siblings or cousins, so I am wondering if anyone else has experienced a situation similar to this?

When I was a small kid my mom always took me to a female public bathroom when I had to pee, but I don't remember she would use a public bathroom often, unless we were away from home for a long time and she had to. Generally she rather hold it until we came home and always had to run to a bathroom when we arrived. I guess she was very desperate at that point. So, it's fair to say, there is a good possibility she was often desperate too when taking me in a bathroom, but she didn't want to use it herself.

My mom was the same way as she pretty much never used a public bathroom short of an extreme emergency where we were out all day. In the situation with my cousin it was extremely bad because he was at the age where he was old enough to use the bathroom by himself but you also couldn't just leave him like I couldn't just leave to use the ladies room and leave them unattended waiting in line for the men's room, so I was in a situation where I had to wait for him where I didn't even get to go. But believe me I really would have liked to go to the bathroom! That was what was really frustrating though, I basically had to escort him to the bathroom without getting to go myself.

With very young children, mothers often bring boys into the ladies' room and they both get a chance to pee, though dads would never bring a young girl into the men's because of the open urinals.  It might be possible for a dad to dash into the men's while daughter is using the ladies' because it's usually a quicker process to use a urinal.

More places are now featuring a "family" rest room to alleviate this problem.

This is true. But by then my little cousin was not so little that it would still be normal to bring them into a ladies room like that as I think it was over 10 years old. So he was old enough that he could use the bathroom by himself but not old enough that you would leave him unsupervised in a public place like that, so I was kind of out of luck in that regard. I pretty much had to just wait there for him to use the bathroom and then I couldn't leave him alone to go into the ladies room until I met up with my other cousin so he could watch him and then of course there was a line...

It is true that it is definitely more common now but this was like over 20 or 25 years ago or something like that when it wasn't as common. And it is still relatively uncommon at places like amusement parks or carnivals. Amusement parks and carnivals just don't have great bathroom access in general in my experience, even though it has been a long time since I have been to one.

One of the malls I went to as a kid had family restrooms and I often went in with my mom, I remember one time at another mall I went in the womens room with my mom and some other rude lady who was there remarked to my mom that at my age I should be going to the bathroom by myself and my mom chewed that bitch out good.

A men's room is considered more "dangerous" than a ladies' room.  Some years ago I was a chaperone with a school group at a museum, and I had just herded the boys in and out of the men's room when I was approached by a woman who was apparently caregiver for a mentally challenged man who needed to pee, but she was afraid to let him go in alone.  I guess she thought that if I was safe enough to monitor school kids I would be safe for her client, so I escorted him in, pointed to the urinals and let him do his thing.

Multiple-toilet public rest rooms are awkward for a parent or caregiver when they go somewhere with a dependent person (adult or child) of the opposite gender.

I am curious about this part if you are older you are expected to put up but if you are traveling with your older male cousins why should they be allowed to go before you  go ? Shouldnt they be expected to hold it till you go to to keep it fair especailyl since they are older and are men (so easier to hold in pee than women already?). Thats what I find very unfair especailly if i was a girl where men older then me that already have larger bladders and easier ability to hold get to go first. Last summer at a fair I remember the womens restroom all had lines and I got to go right away while women who were younger than me looked desperate and had to wait. If I was one of the younger woman who had to wait I would feel super unfair that boys older than me who already have it easier didnt have to wait at all. Not sure if you feel this as a woman like the age dynamic in the opposite way

That goes for locker rooms too, I remember one time when me, my sister and my mom went to go swimming at the local YMCA and the staff there wouldn't let me go through the women's locker room even though my mom had taken me through their several times before with no problems, so I had to go through the men's locker room by myself and being a young kid I was a little nervous about that, my mom was pretty pissed at the staff for forcing me to go through the men's locker room by mself as she was worried about what some random guy in there might do to me, thankfully it was empty.

Well in this case my other cousin who was about my age was going to go wait for a ride for like an hour ,so somebody had to watch his little brother, my little cousin, so I volunteered to watch him. Unfortunately during that time my bladder started getting full but I was in a situation where I couldn't really leave him alone. So I pretty much had to stand there watching him waiting in line for the men's room and wait for him to come out and then I couldn't just leave him there to use the ladies room, so I had to wait until my other cousin got back before he could watch his younger brother so that I can go use the ladies room.

But I think that women are expected to be able to control their needs more and older children are expected to have more self-control. I think from a young age women are taught to deny or ignore their own needs in favor of other people's needs and that was definitely the case in my family.

Even where bathrooms were available it was typical for my mom and her sisters to allow my boy cousins to go to the bathroom first and we would wait for them to use the restroom before we then proceeded to the ladies room, which would by then usually have a long line. Their reasoning was that it was going to end up being a long wait at the ladies room anyway so you might as well have the boys relieve themselves quickly while they can instead of making them wait for me. And since they were two of them and only one of me I guess I was outnumbered in that regard. Again it was really unfair and a double standard but I could see the "logic" behind it if you can call it that. Still really sucked though! But my mom and her sisters definitely had the attitude that girls should be able to control themselves (IE Hold it) better than boys and they sort of imposed that attitude on me.

Did the male cousins you grow up with ever you knew you had to go? Did they develop a fetish from asserting their dominance and getting to go while you cant go? Did they make fun of you for having to go?

At the same time, , I think society is more forgiving to a woman who has to pee than a man that has to pee, especially if they are outside or asking to use a public bathroom in a store. I think it goes back to sterptypes on women being more "delicate" and people feel bad for women too in general. I once recall a resturant owner saying he doesnt get why male delivery drivers  come in to ask to use the bathroom when they can just go outside in the bush

I remember a bus trip when I was younger and a boy had to pee but he was told he had to hold it and they wont open the lavatory on the bus for him cause he should have gone earlier. Fast forward an hour and a half a girl had to pee and was in tears and instantly she was allowed to go use the bus's lavatory while the boy held it until we got to the next step. But the boy did not ask again if he could use the toilet but shows double standard since the boy was denied to go earlier and he was complaining all trip he had to go

This double standard has been my experience on some occasions.  Other examples:  A community event on the common provided a portapotty "for the ladies", the organizer saying that "men can always find a place to go".  A tour bus in Italy stopped at a restaurant for a rest stop and both the men's and ladies' rest rooms inside were used for the women while the men lined up at a toilet in an open shed out behind the building.

Most of the time I made it pretty obvious when I had to go to the bathroom, so yes they knew I had to go to the bathroom. I really don't think that any of them have a fetish for it but they did sometimes tease me for being in that situation, and I was always sort of ridiculed for the fact that I had a small bladder and had to go to the bathroom all the time everywhere we go and I was often said to have a little girl bladder.

I think that that is true to some degree, and I have chatted with several guys who said that it's considered unmanly to have to ask to need a bathroom, so men are expected to be strong and to hold it. However I still think that women are forced to hold it more often than men are because men usually can find a bathroom or just use a bush or something like that. In a situation without toilets it is much more common for women to be the ones having to hold it, and I think society is much more permissive of men going to the bathroom in general, whereas women are expected to hold it if no toilet is available. When you are a guy pretty much the entire world is your bathroom.

I think this is because women have more of a need for privacy when they go to the bathroom as men can pee more discreetly without exposing themselves and aren't expected to be as modest. That was sort of what it was like in my family, where they allowed the boys to just pee outside because boys will be boys, but women were supposed to be modest and not expose themselves.

I do remember one time though where I was on a bus ride and they stopped in a field and let all of the boys pee and the women just sort of had to hold it though, and that was extremely frustrating!

"Did this ever lead to any accidents? I don't take much interest in these scenarios because I don't like to see wetting in front of children, but the idea of a woman having to hold it all day with small children and then having an accident on the way home is hot..."

I can honestly say I don't think I have ever seen anyone, male or female, have an accident in my entire life. Maybe I just have never been on the lookout for it, but I don't think it's very common in general.

Why were you ridicliuded by the guys when it seems like they had to pee too except they have a penis and were allowed to pee? Did you make fun of them back? Did they try to rub it in your face? Did your parents not get mad at your cousins?

Did your cousins ever know why ladies had a long line just to pee or why women had to sit to pee?

Again this is just when we were younger and that's just how little kids are, they like to pick on each other and make fun of each other. I actually get along great with my cousins but everyone does little stuff like that when they are younger. I never really made fun of them back because there wasn't really any opportunity as they were never in a situation where they couldn't go to the bathroom when I could. Sometimes they did rub it in my face but not an especially cruel way or anything like that, just kids being kids and teasing and stuff like that. Our parents didn't really say anything about it and we usually didn't bring it to their attention or anything like that.

"Did your cousins ever know why ladies had a long line just to pee or why women had to sit to pee?"

When we were younger we all just repeated the same things that women take too long and that they take longer and all that other stuff when it's actually the reality of it is that there are urinals that make men able to pee a lot quicker. But I didn't know about that when I was a kid, so I didn't really have any explanation for it.
In fact I was a kid I was somewhat ignorant of anatomy as I thought that I had to sit down to pee because I thought the pee came out my butt! That was basically what everybody always said, girls pee out their butts be whereas boys had something external to pee through. In fact for years I knew this kid who was a religious fundamentalist who said that God was punishing women by making them pee out theirs butts then for a couple of years I actually believed that when I was really young and ignorant and now I feel really stupid about it. But kids really don't know anything about reproduction or anything like that.

Incidentally though I do suspect that kid who was a religious fundamentalist was actually one of us, now that I look back on things in retrospect, because he seemed really fascinated with situations where girls couldn't go to the bathroom and often when we were together he would pee and I would continue holding it simply because I was not able to go outside, and my parents didn't want me to go into his house because his house was really filthy and everything. So eventually I would eventually go home to go to the bathroom and he sometimes ridiculed me for the fact that I often had to go to the bathroom. So I do think that he had something of a pee fetish or that he was at least fascinated with the way girls went to the bathroom.

So your friend’s theory that women must to sit to pee is a punishment? I admit it must suck for girls having to pee sitting down without the choice to stand but punish goes a bit far? Did he try to rub it in your face he pees standing?

did your cousins talk about why women have to wipe to?

if you really were desperate and had to go outside do you think your cousins will try and cover you or still tease you? What if you genuinely were desperate and they know you have to to and still hold it for a while would they feel bad for you and console you or also make fun of you?
