OPencil 58
A Buzzfeed article got me thinking about this:(https://www.buzzfeed.com/sydrobinson1/which-urinal-should-you-really-pee-in) I’ve heard men talk about how it’s impolite to use the middle urinal, or just generally generally take a leak next to another man— yet they seem very happy to do this outside into bushes. I’m curious about how true and strict these ‘urinal rules’ really are. I’m also curious about what it’s like being a male into omo when using urinals. (I appreciate there aren’t a massive amount of gay men on this site, so some of you guys might just be trying to ignore the others lol). As women, we’re completely sectioned off from each other and can only hear tinkling sounds. What’s it like actually seeing + hearing a man rush in and take a much-needed piss right next to you? (I guess I’m just intrigued by what it’s like in a male bathroom) Quote Link to comment
JensH2 602
I try to avoid standing next to another man if I don't have to, but if the restrooms are full it's absolutely common to occupy all of the urinals. Though I will try to find a stall because I can be a little pee shy sometimes. 😊 The single most important rule is: Don't look left or right, focus your own stuff! 😂 Quote Link to comment
BladderLad 1,467 Posted January 24, 2020 ✨ Legendary Member Share Posted January 24, 2020 Think it’s a load of nonsense tbh- urinals are designed to be public not private although I always try to respect others privacy- however as a male that enjoys Male desperation they definitely have their advantages, although even a man peeing in a cubicle tends to be highly audible as well!!! 😃 peedespes02 1 Quote Link to comment
WetDave 650
My rules are 1. Never use a urinal next to somebody else if there is another one free 2. If there is still a choice after following rule 1 above, choose so that if somebody else comes they can still use a urinal without standing next to someone else 3. Do not talk to others who are peeing 4. Do not fart 5. Do not look at others 6. Do not pee on other people’s shoes. I have seen all of these rules broken by people, often frequently. Jon454 4
Those who have replied before me have done a good job outlining the “rules” of the urinal; I see only one thing missing: up until like middle school some kids use the urinal ass-out. This shows how unwritten the rules of the urinal are- nobody told these poor souls that using a urinal is a pants-on event until they had lived more than a decade. in terms of omo, using a urinal is nothing special for me; even if I was into guys I think I could compartmentalize because it’s such a public space. It’s so normalized. Quote Link to comment
peedespes02 686
I am very shy peeing in front of guys. I dont like to use urinals that much. I never stand or try not stand next to a guy when I use a urinal. I try to use a stall whenever I am out in public. I can relax my bladder more and let it go more in stall. There is no one looking at me in the stall easier to go then. Quote Link to comment
StubbornBunny 475
When i'm out in public, or at a bar and need the toilet i normally wait for a free cubical. I think it's a confidence issue with me, i get bad pee fright (If other strangers i don't know are near me, i cant pee) lol. It differs from male to male i think, If i'm drunk/tipsy i don't really care if other men are near me, when you gotta go, you gotta go! 😄 Quote Link to comment
CarmenCD 1,363
It’s not impolite to use the middle urinal or pee next to another man, but it's "a rule" not to look each other's penis while peeing. I prefer stall and pee siting down and don't use urinals a lot, only when it's really emergency. Quote Link to comment
David_E 116
The rule is that you only a the urinal next to another man if necessary. People in waiting rooms do something similar - you only sit next to a stranger if that is necessary! Sometimes urinals smell quite a bit of pee, and if the only smell is pee, I find it quite arousing - though I try to imagine a woman has done the pee! Quote Link to comment

I only ever use urinals if they have dividers or there is absolutely no one else in the restroom. Life is p a i n. Quote Link to comment
