Dungeons and Dragons inspired interactive

Recommended Posts

This is basically a modified, text based version of the popular Dungeons and Dragons tabletop rpg! Basic rundown of the mechanics and basic terminology:

PC: Stands for ‘Player Character’. Is any character controlled by you guys.

NPC: Stands for ‘Non Player Character’. An example would be one of the people living in a town.

Party: Refers to all of the player characters.

Stamina: Encompasses both Health and Magic. Character will be knocked out if it reaches 0. Is visible for PCs and NPCs.

Thirst: Pretty self explanatory! Increases 1 per post (my posts, to be specific) for all PCs. Also applies to NPCs, but isn’t visible. Starts at 1 then goes up to 20. If at 20, character loses one point of Stamina per post. Decrease with drinks.

Bladder: Also pretty self explanatory. Starts at 1, and maximum is based on Stamina at a 1 point of stamina to 3 points of max bladder. If it goes above the limit, the character wets themselves. Increased with drinks or simply by posting. Can be reset back to 1 by peeing. Applies to NPCs, though not visible.

Profiency: How skilled a character is. Allows them to have more Abilities. Is also an intelligence stat in some capacity. Applies to NPCS, though isn’t visible.

Creativity: Determines how many different ways your character can use the skills their Class possesses.  Also allows novel solutions to problems that might arise. Applies to NPCs, though not visible.

Attack Power: A multipler that will determine how much Stamina your character reduces on average with a physical attack. Is visible for both PCs and NPCs. Dependent on Class.

Magic Attack Power: A multiplier that will determine how much damage is dealt with a magic based attack. Visible for both PCs and NPCs. Dependent on Class.

Defense: How much a character will resist an attack. Has to be the same or higher then target’s defense for any attack to hit. Dependent on Class. Visible for PCS and NPCs.

Exp and LVL: Exp, or ‘Experience points’ determine how close your character is to gaining another LVL. (Level) Upon level increase, any of the stats (Stamina, Thirst, Bladder, Proficiency, Attack Power, Magic Attack Power, Defense, or Creativity) can be increased by 1-4 points. EXP is gained by defeating enemies. Bonus EXP will be rewarded if your backstory indicates your character has previously improved their skills. First level up only requires 100 experience, but it’ll double each time for the subsequent level up.

Now, if you somehow understood all of that, let’s make a character. You may pick any of the races or Classes from Dnd. (You’ll have to look that up yourself, this post is already long as is.)
