Can we keep the politics out of pissing please? We all have our opinions, but I don't think a discussion on socialism and materialism is worth having here. Ultimately what people choose on contribute

I really wonder why people upload videos and then hide them behind a "send X a friend request"-wall.

because some of us spent countless hours of researching the internet over some years to get good sources of videos, and also spent some money to buy stuff (not to mention the hours-long downloading times, editing and converting so it fits thisvid standards and doesn't get deleted) and we don't feel like giving them to ungrateful freeloaders who only think about getting stuff and never about sharing anything with others.

if anyone wants to see videos, they should be willing share at least a couple of vids themselves. thisvid encourages people to share in order to see vids, and that's why the site is thriving and has so much original content you don't see anywhere else.

It can be looked at both ways. There's yours of course. There's profiles on thisvid with pornhub users/models videos (among others from other sites) that are locked up anyway. It's easy to see it as a way to keep from getting reported and losing the data, like what happens to VK accounts. I hate to use this one-liner, but...it is what it is. Either share the wealth or not. Not everyone has all the time in the world to scour the internet for good material.

when someone else works for your well being, you don't feel motivated to really do something and contribute to progress. that's why socialism doesn't work 😄

people will find time to find things (or buy them) when they get horny enough 😉 if they don't, guess they aren't that horny. porn videos isn't that big of a part of life to everybody anyway. i was very horny and i have a very specific taste in videos, so i was motivated to search.

It does work though. Been a part of our system for a very long time. 😀

You see, it's hoarders that ruin it for everyone. Just pay your taxes, and everyone goes home happy.

socialism works when people contrubite to the system equally, and enjoy the benefits equally. in the times after the war, people were motivated to build a better future together. but later generations decided to exploit that by becoming freeloaders who contribute nothing and take everything for granted, and people who actually contribute a lot, but get nothing in return, get pissed off. and then the system collapses. just like yugoslavia, where i'm from, did.

some people want more from life than just paying taxes and avoid any more responsibilities than absolutely necessary. some people want to produce more than average, are more hard working, more motivated, and they also deserve more. and when people want new, better things, they have to prove they deserve it somehow - by contributing something themselves (in form of working, earning money and buying what they want).

it is really not that hard to contribute a little and show you're not entirely selfish. it's more about the gesture than actual videos, the fact that a person is willing to take effort to try and show you something good as a gratitude for letting them have something they wanted. it's like when you pay for the round of beers for all your friends after they all have paid a round for you. would you respect someone who drinks for free and goes home when they're expected to buy a round? i certainly don't.

Yes, that part rings true. The other series of paragraphs are more justifications for materialism. Scaled judgement based on the haves and have nots of another person (The easy answer is not hanging out with someone if you care about such things). Which is all fine. I stand on American soil, and here we can be as slimy as we want.

Enjoy your future beer.

refusing to give someone everything for nothing in return is materliasm? nope. you know what IS materialism? trying to get everything without contributing anything 😉

and the point is, it's not about the videos at all - it's about respect. it's about being willing to contribute in general. i gladly accept friendships of people there even if i'm not interested in any of videos they have (which is like 90% of the time, since i very rarely even have to send a request myself).

see, when i registered on the site, first thing i did was upload a bunch of videos, THEN send friend requests. because i'm the type of a guy that thinks about what he can offer before thinking about what he can get. that's how you establish a good relationship with a person and earn their respect. there are some people who make effort and upload a bunch of videos before they first added me. of course i gladly accepted them. and even when they got what they wanted, they didn't stop uploading.

on the contrary, there are guys with 0 vids who keep adding me (and everyone else) for years, no matter how many times i tell them i don't accept people who share nothing (that's written very clearly on my profile), they still keep trying, until i eventually block them. it's ridiculous, since you can get a few nice videos on your profile in just a few minutes, all it takes is an absolute minimum amount of will to contribute something back.

i'll enjoy things i deserve (actually, feeling i deserve something is the requirement to really enjoy something). it's no problem for me to get a free beer or a favor from my friends. i earned their respect. and they earned mine, which i show in various ways as well. not because i'd want to get something from them, but because i genuinely feel like they deserve it. and it's very simmilar on thisvid.
