DrBorderline 325
A Country Made By War by Geoffrey Perret. It was recommended to me by somebody on a survivalist forum. Very informative. Also, Circle of Intrigue by Texe Marrs. It was recommended to me by somebody else from that same forum. Not as informative, but very entertaining. Link to comment
Medieval Genie 208
I am not a fiction reader, however I adore books filled to the brim with properly researched and thorough information. I was recently reading an old Reader's Digest tome called the Book Of Skills And Tools, which is great for a Do It Yourself amateur like myself trying to do things safely and competently. Previously I have gone to a website called Wiktenauer which has translated manuscripts from the 1300s onward of European combat treatises (including pretty pictures) by authors such as Italian sword master Fiore Dei Liberi. Also, books like In St George's Name add a modern author's interpretation and explanation for a more accessible format to hairy stocky dumb-dumbs like myself who just want to hit things with weapons.
