That's a wrap on Interspecies Reviewers. It's a true miracle that a show like this was able to be made, and it airing on TV is crazy. Shame all that means it'll never get a Season 2. Unless the Blu-Rays sell gangbusters, which they might. I did truly enjoy the journey, but that doesn't mean I've seen better. Monster Musume is a better show at the end of the day, and remains my favorite monster girl product.. Monster Girl Quest has worse pornographic elements, but a far, far better world outside that. Still, I respect the Interspecies Reviewers for what it managed to accomplish, and for bringing a Meidri to my attention.

Finished Ninja Gaiden Sigma. It's a miracle that I even took a chance with this, considering how I still carry the scars of renting Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge from 7 years ago. As much hell as the difficulty put me through, there was always something about it that never left my head. So, now that I'm free from pride and have nothing to prove to anybody, I played Ninja Gaiden Sigma. The combat was fast and satisfying, the game looks really clean for an early PS3 port of an original Xbox game, the difficulty was challenging yet comfortable (took the first opportunity to knock the game down to Ninja Dog difficulty, do not regret that in the slightest, considering it's still harder than any other hack and slash I've played), I liked it. It's not perfect, though. Switching weapons is a pain, the camera has a tendency to get stuck in narrow environments, fine movement control is not smooth with all the times I didn't climb a wall the right way, or the swimming controls, the game has an "open world" design as much as the original Devil May Cry games had, something I was never a fan of there either, some of the bosses and enemies are just an outright pain, and the save/continue system is lousy. It's a lot of things that could be improved with sequels...which is a shame, because everyone unanimously agrees that the original was the best of the modern trilogy. Still, since I don't think the original is anywhere close to perfect, the potential QoL improvements the sequels might have means I might like them more, and even if they don't (they at least have linear design, I know for a fact), the core combat is fun enough that I'll look out for Sigma 2 at some point.

Does Sigma 2 at least also have Ayane making me rice balls?

Now, can someone explain to me why the final boss is the easiest in the game? I just ran in and started doing my usual combo, he only hit me a few times for not much damage, and he was dead within a minute.

Since I couldn't see it in theaters due to living on campus and it not being a high enough priority, and having to wait an extra week for not having a Crunchyroll account, I have now seen the Konosuba movie, Legend of Crimson. More Megumin is always a good thing. Aside from that, I give it credit for not falling into the trap a lot of anime movies fall into of feeling a need to be big, epic, and with a bunch of fanservice callbacks, because that's a style of anime movie I hate (and my three favorites don't do it at all), and it's got that Konosuba feeling, even if the animation was done by a different studio and does look a little off. Fun time, but I wouldn't say it did anything perfect or special enough that I can say I loved it.

Been in a big Final Fantasy mood lately. ProJared releases a heartfelt video about Final Fantasy VI, The Great Clement releases a long, harsh video on Final Fantasy XIII, and it sent me down watching FF videos from both over the last couple days. Now, it hasn't led me into playing any Final Fantasy, seeing as I only own VI (and Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers) and I'm already playing Breath of Fire IV at the moment, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the games in...other ways.

Inti Creates shared some news regarding Dragon: Marked for Death recently. Aside from news regarding the 3.0.0 update, because I don't play the game so I don't keep up with update news because I won't understand it anyway. First off, the game broke 120,000 downloads, which is nice. Second, Empress will be coming as a DLC character to Blaster Master Zero 2. Maybe not quite the exciting crossover that Shantae in Blaster Master Zero was, but still cool. And finally, most prominent and most exciting, the game will be making its way to Steam later this month. That's great news for me, because it's yet another one less reason I need to buy a Switch (all that's left to tempt me are Animal Crossing, No More Heroes 3, and Breath of the Wild 2, which are very big deals that I can't ignore). I still have reason to wait until I eventually get a Switch to play it, because I do love physical copies, that's the reason I haven't played Travis Strikes Again yet. But, aside from the fact that I care more about Dragon: Marked for Death than I do Travis Strikes Again, it's a very multiplayer-focused game, so having it on a platform where I don't have to pay for online is handy. I can see myself buying this in the Steam summer sale.

Of all the shows that could have gotten a second season, [strikethrough]Gross Lower Half[/strikethrough] Dropkick on my Devil would have certainly been low on my list of expectations. But, regardless, it's here. And the producers made a smart move by finishing production early enough that the entire season could drop at once. With Re:Zero and Sword Art Online delayed, that was a good call, if an accidental one. And this second season is much like the first: a simple premise with a lot of flaws in execution, but so much heart and soul in it that I love it. It's even better than the first season, perhaps because the producers knew this one was purely for the fans (tell us to buy 2000 Blu-Rays to get a second season, we'll do it), this season had a lot of weird jokes and meta humor. It's far from the weirdest anime I've seen (that's a high bar when I've seen Pop Team Epic, Inferno Cop, the Ghost Stories dub), but it's probably got the strangest jokes of a "normal" anime. But damn if they didn't put their all into it. And that goes for Crunchyroll too. Aside from my confusion that this season wasn't distributed by Amazon worldwide like the first season was (they still have the Amazon name drops), the subtitling for this season was superb. Perhaps because the Crunchyroll subbers don't have much else to do right now, but they sub everything, take care not to let the text overlap by using opaque boxes to block out the original text, use appropriate colors and sizes, and even have them move across the screen. Aside from some technical issues like occasional incorrect layering, the sync being off by a frame or two, and the movement being jittery, it was the best subtitle work I've ever seen.

Minos is still best girl, but Yusa and Koji are also great. They don't appear much this season (aside from a weird "sub-plot" where Mei has Koji kidnapped most of the time), but damn if the ice spirits aren't beautiful when they do grace our presence.

I still very much want to eat Yusa's yellow snow. And that sentence is 100% canon.
