~This fiction is a derivative work of Touhou Project~

... Wake up.

Everything is... white... You find yourself laying down face-first into a pile of snow. Everything feels cold... Your whole body is shivering... You've never experienced such a harsh winter in your life before! Yet... you don't know where you are exactly... The last thing you remember is going to a bar one night, getting piss-drunk, and passing out. In fact, you're pretty sure that's the last thing you did before waking up in the middle of nowhere. The fact that your face still feels extremely cold isn't helped by the fact that you're pretty much having the worst hangover ever.

So now that you're out here, what should you do first?

A). Assess your identity (Describe what our character should be. Design winner will be determined by dice-roll.)

or

B). Assess the situation and see where we are.

(Not a whole lot of replies yet... I suppose I'll just get on with it and hope that attracts more readers :P)

After a few moments of mental digging, you manage scrounge up your identity. Your name is [Name requested: leave suggestion below :3]. Thankfully, your jeans, boots, and blouse are keeping you somewhat warm, but it's not enough to drive off the bitter cold...

Now that you've assessed yourself, let's try getting a read on where we are, exactly...

You seem to be in... a forest? A very dense forest with lots of trees... But what kind of forest are you in...? You are in... ... ...

A). A forest with large mushrooms.

B). A bamboo forest.

C). Wooded Path.

(Baaah! Gotta flip a coin on this one ;-;)

... ... ... just a regular-looking forest... At least, as normal as it could ever be...

All around you you see mushrooms. LOTS of mushrooms! Mushrooms the size of your hand. Mushrooms as big as the trees themselves! Just where are you, exactly...? Can mushrooms like these even survive in such harsh cold?

In any case, you decide that there's no point in sticking around. Now would be an exellent time to find some shelter... or maybe a bathroom. Preferably both...

It's hard to make heads or tails if you're on a path of not since it's all covered in snow, but you gotta head in SOME direction. So might as well go eeniemeenieminymocatchasomethingbytheTHIS WAY!

You collect yourself and head in a random direction...

You continue along the maybe-path, taking in the snowy sights. You have to admit, even though you're freezing your naughty-bits off, the scenery is quite beautiful. Nothing  like back home...

Suddenly, your nose is met with a smell... Actually, you find two smells!

You come across a fork in the road. And on each side there's an assault on your nostrils. On one path is a foul, horrible odor; the smell of chemicals and unknown substances... and on the other path you smell... something sweet. It smells fruity, but at the same time like some baked good. You are kinda hungry... but you're also curious what could cause such a horrible stench?

1: Follow the chemical odor?

or

2: Follow the sweet aroma?

Obviously, common sense would dictate you following the sweet scent, rather than what... kind of smells like a corpse bathing in chlorine. So, you carry yourself and head onward...

As you move further down the forest, your begin to develop a slight cough... Could you be getting sick already? No no, your nose doesn't feel runny or congested. There's just... something in the air that your lungs aren't agreeing with... But you can't tell what.

Then, a massive chill runs down your spine... and a tiny spot of warmth dribble between your legs

You hear... giggling.

In fact, there's a lot of giggling! Multiple people are giggling, and they sound like children. Now if you've seen a horror movie in your life, you know that children giggling within an eerie environment is absolutely no good... But as you hear this giggling, you also can see an open white-covered clearing.

Sooooo what do you wanna do?

A: Find the source of the giggling?

or

B: Ignore it, keep going, and hope to God the laughter doesn't follow you?

Bring this back!

(I actually wouldn't mind reviving this at all~)

Fuck that shit, you think to yourself. You're not gonna deal with creepy laughter. You need to find shelter... and fast.

Finally, you arrive at your destination... As you enter the clearing, you immediately spot a small yet cozy white cabin. The home seems to be mostly one-story, except for a second silo-shaped compartment of the building which had windows going up two floors. You can see smoke rising from the chimney, so whoever lived there had a fire going; a thought most salivating at the moment. But what was even more tempting was the true identity of that wonderful sweet smell~ With one of the windows just sliiiightly cracked open, you can see a delicious freshly-baked pie~

Though something nags at you... This could be a 'witches abode', where some old hag lures people into shelter and guts them or cooks them or something!

That thought quickly leaves your mind as you see the owner of said cabin become visible from the window. It's hard to make out from the frost, but judging from her frame and build, she had to be female... and she sees you... You both lock eyes for a moment before the lady quickly rushes to the door, which creeks open.

"Who are you? You don't look like a youkai... Are you from the village? What's a human doing all the way out here?!" said the lady, who had short blonde hair and dressed in a thick blue winter dress.

"Come on in. You WILL die if you stand out there much longer."

What do you do?

A). Accept the offer

B). Refuse the offer

You feel like this could be a terrible idea. Mama always said not to go into a stranger's house, but you're freezing so bad that you're developing a slight cough. So, against better judgement, you enter the all-too-welcoming cabin, the lady in blue stepping aside for you.

Sure enough, the inside of the cabin was just about as--if not MORE--cozy as the outside looked. The place was furnished with this blend of rustic and modern (kinda like an old lady's home) but more importantly had a cozy fireplace to warm your nethers~ "Have a seat by the fire. I'll serve you some warm tea and a fresh slice of apple pie." The girl gives a gebtle curtsy before she goes to the kitchen.

You nestle your butt against a chair you pulled up. The couch seemed welcoming, but you were desperate for warmth. Speaking of, you're still quite desperate to tinkle... You wonder if there's a bathroom around here. Do they even have plumbing all the way out here...?

As you look aroubd, you see the walls decorated with many pictures and stuff, but from another observation you made earlier, this entire house is loaded with dolls! Everywhere you look is the same doll with same blonde hair, same dresses, same bowties, but the ones on the floor and tables are carrying different tools. Brooms, mops, rags, some even with snowshovels and scarves. In fact, you could've sworn you saw some of those dolls on the snow-covered roof of the cabin! What's with this girl and dolls...?

Eventually, the girl comes back carrying a tray of tea, sugar, and a cooled slice of yummy pie~ She sets it down for you,it's presence siphoning the drool out of your mouth. The kind young girl takes a seat close to you, placing her hands on her lap, which you then notice her fingers; each one decorated with a silver ring.

"I'm Alice Margetroid. I'm one of few people who live in these woods. You don't look like you're from around here... By chance... You wouldn't happen to be from the Outside World, would you?"

Outside World...? You aren't sure what she's talking about...

"That confused look in your eye tells me yes. Oh you must have so many questions. Not to mention, it seems you've come at a very bad time. We're in the middle of an unusual climate incident. Oh but please, ask any questions you may have."

*Ask any questions you wish to know. Also it'd be good manners to introduce yourself.*
