Chapter 3.5

Zoe remained rooted to the spot for a moment, a deep frown crossing her face as she watched Zara go upstairs. She hesitated for a long moment before deciding to follow. To her surprise, Zara was actually cleaning, but it wasn’t enough for Zoe to leave her be. Zoe stepped into Zara’s doorway, crossing her arms and trying to ignore the burning in her cheeks.

“What do you mean with ‘I’m still in them?’” Zoe asked, an eyebrow lifting slightly.

At this, Zara nearly started to howl with laughter, dropping the clothes she held in her hand back onto the floor as she clutched her sides. However, her laughter died out at the murderous look on Zoe’s face and as difficult as it was, she managed to turn her laughter into giggles, shaking with her held in laughter.

“I saw you, Zo,” Zara said with a smirk. “Last week when you walked out of Mom’s room. You were wearing a pull up or something like that.” Zara made a vague gestured as she spoke, trying to explain what it was she saw.

“I was n-” Zoe started to deny before being interrupted by Amelia.

“If you’re so concerned about what happened last week, Zoe, then trust me, it will seem like nothing the next time you have an accident,” Amelia threatened. “Come on,” she added. “We have to leave for your appointment in about 30 minutes and we still need to drive there.” Amelia very quickly turned to Zara, shooting her a look. “And Zara, your room looks like a grenade exploded in it. If it’s not cleaned by the time we get back, there won’t be a vacation for you.”

Zoe stared at her mom dumbfounded as she left the room and went downstairs. This wasn’t planned, was it? From downstairs, she heard her mom yell out, “Come on, Zoe! Quit stalling. We’re running late as it is!”

With a bit of a scramble, Zoe ran down the stairs, grabbing her coat along the way. Amelia was sitting in the car already, looking very impatient, so Zoe was quick to get in and buckled up so that her mom could leave.

“Uhm, Mom?” Zoe asked nervously after they had been driving for a while. “We’re not really going to a doctor, right? Or….” Zoe gulped with a small shiver. “Or a hospital?” She had seen her fair share of doctors in her life due to her apparent quick knack for picking up illnesses.

Amelia gently laid a hand on Zoe’s knee that was vibrating with anxiety. “Well, we’re not going to the hospital or a regular doctor,” Amelia said, quickly adding when Zoe gave her a startled look, “but we are going to a specialist for your back.”

Zoe jumped as she felt a sudden sharp pinch in her back. “Yeouch!” Zoe yelled. “What was that for?” she snapped, shoving a hand behind her so that she could rub her back.

“To prove a point,” Amelia answered with a shrug. “I didn’t even do anything special – just touched it. I don’t even think I could pinch it even if I wanted to. Your back is as hard as a rock.”

Well, this doesn’t help, Zoe thought to herself. The idea of going to someone specifically for her back didn’t sound exactly pleasant. It turned out that her fears were going to be confirmed far quicker than expected.

By the time they returned back to the house, Zoe had to be practically carried back in by her parents and dropped unceremoniously back into her bed. The massage therapist had not been gentle, working for nearly an hour on not just her back and shoulders, but the places Zoe was unaware even hurt at all. Her neck, legs, and feet all got attention and while her neck felt better, she could barely stand.

“Ugh,” Zoe groaned as she was dropped onto her mattress. “I am completely done,” she said, closing her eyes, her breathing somewhat labored. “That hurt like Hell.”

“It was needed, honey,” Amelia said, bending down to give Zoe a quick kiss on her forehead before closing the shades. “Take a nap. We’ll wake you for dinner.”

Zoe rolled around in her bed trying to get herself more comfortable. She could hear voices in the corridor – her mom talking to Zara it sounded like. Despite her exhaustion, Zoe strained her ears to hear what was being said, silently grateful that the door was left ajar.

“Yes, I’m aware that Zoe got a massage, but it wasn’t one of the nice ones,” Amelia said to a complaining Zara. “Her muscles were very tight, and she needed to get them loose otherwise she was going to be in even more pain. It was a mixture of deep tissue and sports – neither of which are delicate.”

“Is that why Zoe has her accidents?” Zara asked curiously. “Because she’s stiff as a board?”

“It has something to do with ...” Amelia started to explain, but the sleepiness that Zoe felt was beginning to set in. Any hopes of listening in on the rest of the conversation were gone, but she did manage to hear Zara mention that she hoped Zoe would feel better soon.

A small smile crossed Zoe’s lips at the words. They often teased each other and had their differences, but they were still siblings. No amount of annoying the other would take away the fact there was love there.

As Zoe’s eyes fell shut and she sagged into the mattress, she started snoring gently and was out like a light.

Chapter 4 just a little Accident

Zoe was gently awoken by someone shaking her awake. She groaned, trying to turn herself into her pillow.

“Five more minutes,” Zoe murmured under her breath, already dozing back off again as she snuggled into the warmth of her blankets. However, she could feel herself being shaken once more.

“Fine, fine,” Zoe muttered. “I’m getting up.” She groaned as she sat up, her aching back muscles protesting against the movement. She couldn’t quite remember how she ended up in bed in the first place, nor why she was in pajamas already and she cast her mom a curious look.

“Dinner will be in 5 minutes,” Amelia said, leaning down to give Zoe a quick kiss on the top of her head.

“Okay,” Zoe said, rubbing her eyes. “I’ll be down in a few.”

Zoe watched as her mom left the room and briefly considered staying in bed and falling back to sleep. But if she did that, she knew that she would never be able to fall asleep that night. So, with a deep sigh, Zoe pulled herself begrudgingly out of bed and got dressed in her jeans she was wearing earlier before wriggling on a t-shirt and one of her favorite hoodies. She went into her drawer, grabbing a pair of socks. She thought about it for a moment before deciding to skip out on shoes. She wasn’t planning on going out that night.

She walked slowly down the stairs, grimacing with each step she took. Zoe had no idea that her back muscles would hurt so much that walking would feel nearly impossible. The moment that she reached the ground floor, the scent of fried rice wafted from the kitchen to her nose.

As she entered the kitchen, she could already see that everyone was seated waiting for her.

“Come on over, Zoe,” Zack said, beckoning Zoe over. “Come join us so that we can eat.”

The moment Zoe sat down, Zack spooned a heaping pile of fried rice and other bits of Chinese onto his plate. He was patient, waiting for the others to fill their plates before eating.

“What does everyone want to drink?” Amelia asked.

“Uhm, can we have soda?” Zara asked. The family very seldomly had soda with their food, but takeaway always seemed to be the right special occasion to have it.

Amelia pursed her lips as she thought before giving a slight shrug. “Yeah, sure,” she said, looking over at Zack. “Do you mind grabbing the Coke?”

“Already on it,” Zack said, standing up from the table and grabbing four sets of glasses, a bottle of Coke and setting them on the table. As an afterthought, Zack also filled a pitcher with water and set that down in the middle of the table.

“Okay, so who wants what?” Zack asked, already pouring a glass of Coke for Zara. “Amelia?”

“I’ll just have water,” Amelia answered, waving Zack off.

“Zoe?”

“Uhm,” Zoe said, shifting slightly in her seat in between bites of rice. “I’d like some Coke.”

“Are you sure that’s a good idea, honey?” Amelia asked, glancing up from her food to give Zoe a look.

“Moooom,” Zoe complained, her cheeks turning bright red. Zoe laid her head on the table to hide her embarrassment. Better get used to it, Zoe thought to herself. There will be a lot more embarrassing moments like this. And while she was embarrassed, Zoe couldn’t deny that she enjoyed the feelings that she had from the way her mom was treating her.

“Oh, Amelia, let her have it,” Zack said, already pouring a glass of Coke for Zoe. “Here, Zo,” he said, handing the glass to Zoe before pouring himself a glass. “Okay, everyone has drinks – let’s eat.”

Dinner consisted of light, easy-going conversation. They all talked about their upcoming vacation plans where they would be heading to Vermont to celebrate Christmas at Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Tommy’s house. It was a long drive, but it would be worth it. They were attempting to create a mental list of last minute things to pick up for their two week trip and the journey there. It was considerably faster to fly, but Zack and Amelia preferred the flexibility of having the car – plus the ski gear they liked to bring along with them took up a fair bit of space.

Zoe found herself becoming more excited for the trip as they talked. It would be fun to see the rest of their family again. It was always a crazy and exceptionally fun time to see the others. Between seeing all of her cousins of all different ages and her aunts and uncles, it was always a good time.

With dinner finished, Amelia stood and went to the freezer to bring out some delicious looking ice cream, presenting it with a flourish and a smile.

“To celebrate the start of the holidays, I decided to get us all a nice little treat,” Amelia said with a smile.

Zoe giggled at Amelia’s antics and her giggles turned to laughter as Zack remarked, “No, dear. You decided that you could get your favorite treat.” Zack was careful to put heavy emphasis on the word favorite. “We were just lucky that you allowed us to join in.”

“Well, if you don’t want any, then you don’t have to have it,” Amelia said with a laugh. “That just means more for me.”

“Oh, no, don’t worry. We’re definitely digging in.” It was safe to say that between the little family the ice cream very quickly disappeared.

“Wow, I am so full,” Zoe groaned as she leaned back in her chair, the ice cream sitting heavily in her stomach. Standing up, Zoe found herself still feeling sore from her appointment earlier. She gingerly made her way over to the couch in the living room, feeling a tell-tale tingle in her bladder as she flopped down onto the couch. As Zoe settled into the couch cushions, she was joined by the rest of the family.

Saturday night was traditionally their movie night. Sometimes they would switch it up with a board game or something else fun. All that mattered was that it was time that they set aside for each other. That particular night was most definitely movie night.

“So, what movie do we pick?” Zoe heard Amelia asked. She couldn’t help but vaguely notice that her mom’s voice sounded far away. She wiggled slightly to bury herself further into the couch cushions. It was very comfortable and the soft lighting of the living room wasn’t bothering her if she closed her eyes.

“How about The Hobbit?” Zara suggested. “We don’t have to watch it all the way to the end.”

“Zoe?” Amelia questioned.

“Mmhmm,” Zoe hummed. She wasn’t really thinking about the question being asked at all. She could feel herself drifting off to sleep in the comfort of the couch cushions, however the twinge in her bladder was slowly growing to a dull roar. It was enough to keep her from falling entirely asleep.

For the next hour or so – perhaps longer, Zoe couldn’t tell – everyone in the room was more or less watching the movie. Zoe had managed to get herself to sit up long enough to alternate between sipping from her mug of hot tea and dozing on and off. She had managed to take over the corner of the L-shaped couch and she was more than happily snuggled up there, leaning against her dad as she continued to doze off. Every so often the dull ache and twitch of her bladder reminded her of her little plan.

“Mooom, Daaaaddd. Can we pause the movie for a bit?”

Zoe lifted her head slowly from her dad’s shoulder, casting Zara a questioning look. She wasn’t really asleep, but she was certainly comfortable where she was. However, she was suddenly awake to realize just how badly she actually needed to pee. She kept herself from squeezing her legs together, but it was difficult.

“Why do we need to pause the movie, sweetheart?” Zack questioned.

“I forgot that I needed a shower,” Zara replied.

“And you need one right this very second?” Zack asked, an eyebrow raising. He shook his head when Zara gave him a look that implied he was stupid for even asking. “All right then – go shower,” Zack sighed. “But no longer than 20 minutes. I’ll keep time and it’s startsss –” Zack drew the word out for as long as possible as he pulled up the clock app on his phone and switched to the timer “– now.” He pointed his fingers like he was shooting a gun to start a race.

“That’s not fair, Dad!” Zara protested. “The shower takes at least two minutes to warm up!”

“Then I’ll add two minutes, but you’d better get going,” Zack said, checking his phone. “You’ve already lost a minute.”

Zoe couldn’t help but giggle as Zara hauled herself off the couch with an aggravated groan. She quickly stopped herself as she felt the tiniest drops of pee squeak out from her bladder and hit her panties.

Whoops, Zoe thought to herself. Best be careful.

Amelia sighed as she watched Zara go up the stairs. “Well, Zack,” she said, “do you mind putting on some more tea? I’ll be right back.”

Zoe shifted herself on the couch so that Zack could get up. She settled into the cushions again, watching as her mom walked down the hallway towards the half bath, and she pretended to doze off a little again. Zoe swallowed hard. This was perfect. She counted to 30 seconds in her head before suddenly shooting up from the couch, the pillows falling into the floor with a soft thud.

“Zoe,” Zack said in alarm as he poked his head around the corner from the kitchen. “Are you okay?”

As hard as she tried not to, Zoe couldn’t help but let out a small noise as she stood and gravity hit her bladder. As she half waddled-half ran towards the bathroom, she paused just long enough to answer her dad’s question. Playing it up a bit, though she really had to go, Zoe crossed her legs, shoving a hand between them as she squeezed hard. The action alone made her face turn bright red as it made her feel young again. A lump formed in her throat from the nervousness of what she was about to do.

“I h-h-have to pee reaalllyyy badly,” Zoe half stuttered, half-squeeked out before continuing down the hallway, not bothering to wait for her dad’s reaction. She could hear it however as she made her way down the hallway.

“Zo, I think your mom is on the toilet,” Zack called out, sounding slightly worried.

As Zoe made it to the bathroom door, she couldn’t help her whine. “Mom? Are you almost done?” she asked, half pleadingly. “I really really need to go.”

“Not yet, honey,” Amelia responded from the other side of the door.

Zoe waited another few seconds with her hand between her legs before she knocked. “Mom, hurry please,” Zoe pleaded, knocking again as she danced on her feet. “I need to go so bad.” In her mind she could see flashbacks of her younger self in almost exactly the same situation.

Realizing she really wasn’t going to be able to hold much longer, Zoe decided to make one more feeble plea. “Mom, please,” she begged, her voice sounding on the verge of tears. “It’s really bad. I can’t hold it for much longer. Please hurry.”

“I’m almost done,” Amelia said, her sentence punctuated by the sound of the toilet flushing.

As if that was the final piece of the puzzle, it was at that moment Zoe allowed herself to relax. Half aided by the intense need to pee and the noise and the plan of what they were doing, it was easy to just let go. She unclenched her legs, removing her hands, and released the tight muscles that kept her bladder sealed.

Zoe felt her shoulders sag in relief as she cast her eyes down to the floor, feeling incredibly juvenile. There she was, wetting herself like she was a little girl all over again. As she felt the warm flow start to spread from her crotch downward, she could clearly see how her jeans rapidly darkened as the rivulets of her pee snaked their way down her legs to the floor. At the same time, she could hear a faint hissing noise from the release. Hot tears began to fill her eyes, and she couldn’t help but squirm as the rapidly cooling liquid reached her socks, soaking them as a puddle began to form around her.

The noise of rushing water from the sink startled Zoe and her eyes shot up as the water stopped. She practically froze at the distinct noise of the lock being undone and the door knob being turned. Amelia stood in the door opening, giving Zoe a small smile.

“Your turn,” she said, stepping aside so that Zoe could walk through. But Zoe couldn’t move. She couldn’t dare to move. “Zoe?” Amelia prompted. “I thought you needed to go.” She studied Zoe closely, still oblivious to Zoe’s soaked jeans and the puddle on the ground that was creeping steadily in her direction. Zoe could only look downward, her cheeks burning.

“I kind of don’t need to go anymore,” she answered softly.

“What was that?” Amelia asked, her face twisting slightly with her confusion in trying to figure out what exactly it was Zoe said.

“I don’t need to go anymore, Mom,” Zoe said a little louder. She was starting to feel quite icky standing there in her jeans. The cooling denim sticking to her skin felt odd, and her feet felt gross with wet socks. As she shifted, Amelia studied Zoe’s face closer before her eyes traveled down to where Zoe was looking, understanding and realization dawning on her face.

“Zoeee,” Amelia said, sounding slightly frustrated, though not unkind. “What happened?” She let out a sigh as she stepped back away from the significant puddle on the floor.

“I couldn’t hold it,” Zoe said softly, shuffling her feet. “I had to go really badly. And you were on the toilet and it took too long.”

“Well,” Amelia said, putting her hands on her hips, “you know the deal we made.” Amelia took a moment to break the rant she was about to go on to whisper to Zoe, “Just play along, okay?”

Zoe met Amelia’s gaze and gave a slight nod. “I don’t want to be put in diapers,” she said. She could feel her heart start to race. Though she was genuinely embarrassed, she was also kind of excited.

“You should have thought about that earlier, young lady,” Amelia said before relaxing, her voice softening slightly. “Your punishment stands, but first let’s get you cleaned up.”

Zoe nodded, making to move, but Amelia stopped her.

“Eeh, don’t move, Zoe,” Amelia said hastily. “Hang on. Zack! Zack sweetie!”

“Yeah?” Zack called out. “Everything okay?”

“Could you please grab some towels, Zack?”

“Towels? Why? Hold on.”

“Well,” Amelia said, nodding to Zoe as Zack turned the corner to see what was going on, “she didn’t quite make it, I’m afraid.”

“Oh, Zo,” Zack said softly, his tone apologetic. “All right, hold on. We’ll get this taken care of,” he added before quickly rushing off to grab some towels and a mop. When he returned, he turned on the light and took a moment to really inspect the situation in front of him. “Oh, damn it, Zoe,” Zack said in surprise as he took in the chaos of the hallway and the state of his daughter.

Zoe was practically shivering where she stood. Her light blue jeans were decidedly now a dark blue and her socks were positively soaked through. It was more than obvious that Amelia didn’t want Zoe to move so that she didn’t track any of her pee past where she stood.

“Okay, here’s how it’s going to happen,” Amelia said as she carefully tiptoed around the puddle that had finally stopped. “Zoe, pull off your socks first.”

With a wince, Zoe pulled off her socks, holding them helplessly in her hands. She shifted her feet anxiously, somewhat alarmed by how much colder the floor was underfoot without her socks.

Amelia grabbed a towel from Zack and set it down before making a line of towels towards the stairs. “All right,” Amelia said, motioning for Zoe to come her way, “step on the towels, please, and come this way.” Zoe did as she was told, rubbing her feet dry on the towels as she walked. When Zoe arrived at where her mom stood at the stairs, another towel at the ready, Amelia motioned for her to step off the towel before rubbing the towel in her hands roughly over Zoe’s jeans to keep them from dripping as much as they were.

“Okay, now upstairs,” Amelia directed, giving Zoe a small push.

As they approached the upstairs bathroom, they could hear the shower running and Zara happily singing. Zoe questioned whether she would have to wait in her wet jeans until Zara was finished, but Amelia rapped her knuckles on the door.

“Zara!” she called out.

“Yeah, Mom?” Zara responded. “Wait a sec,” she added from the other side of the door, the shower turning off. “What is it?”

“You need to dry off now.”

“Why?” Zara protested. “It’s only been maybe 10 mintes.”

“Cause I said so,” Amelia answered with a huff. “Your sister also needs a shower, so please dry off and hurry a bit.”

“Ugh, okay,” Zara replied, exasperated.

Amelia decided that she would dare to try and incentivize Zara a little bit. “If you’re quick, then you can add an extra 10 minutes to your shower tomorrow instead.”

“I’m drying off. Hold on.”

In the meantime, Zoe was shivering furiously. It wasn’t that warm upstairs and her wet clothes were making her even colder. She was very much looking forward to getting in the shower.

“You okay, honey?” Amelia asked, slightly concerned. The last thing she wanted to do on top of everything was make Zoe sick.

“Yeah, just a little cold,” Zoe chattered.

A few moments later, the door’s lock clicked and Zara walked out, stepping around Amelia and Zoe before coming to an immediate halt. She turned to look at Zoe, her face a mixture of surprise and confusion.

“What happened?” she asked, sounding slightly worried. “Is Zoe okay?”

“Your sister had an accident,” Amelia answered, giving Zara a reassuring smile. “She’ll be okay. We’ll talk about it later.”

“Okay,” Zara said slowly. “Well, as long as she’s okay.” She turned to Zoe, giving her a quick once-over. “I’m sorry that you have to spend our vacations in diapers, Zo.”

Zoe was surprised that Zara sounded genuine, though she didn’t miss the hint of a smile behind her words. She said nothing and just nodded before dashing into the bathroom, startled that Amelia followed her in.

“Uhm, Mom?” Zoe said. “Can I shower alone?”

“Yes, but I need your clothes, Zoe,” Amelia answered. “I’m going to need to wash all of this separately. Also, could you first rinse it before you give it to me? Just strip under the shower so you can at least get warm.”

With a heavy sigh, Zoe turned on the water and stepped beneath the stream, feeling awkward about standing there in her clothes. At least the warm water was nice. Amelia stepped out of the room for a moment and Zoe quickly undressed, rinsing her clothes under the water before her mom returned with a laundry basket.

“Just squeeze everything out and throw it in, dear,” Amelia said slowly. Zoe frowned but did just that.

“Uhm, can I have some underwear and a towel ready?” Zoe asked before Amelia left.

“Of course,” Amelia said, grabbing only a towel and leaving to grab some clothes for Zoe. “You’ve got ten minutes, Zoe. When you’re done, come to me and your dad’s room, okay?”

“Yeah, okay,” Zoe said as the door closed behind Amelia, her cheeks turning red at the thought of what awaited her.

Ohhhhh i cant wait until the next chapter

How is her back not turning into complete obsidian after receiving a convoluted plan like that in her text? 😅 (That's how that works right? Her back knots up with stress? That's a pretty stressful plan isn't it?)

Anyway that is some serious Tom & Jerry level complication right there, but I guess it worked... 🫤

Chapter Six: Halfway There

Shifting slightly in her seat, Zoe could hear a faint rustle. She grimaced slightly at the pressure on her bladder. She really needed to go and she gave a very gentle push, not too surprised when nothing happened. Zoe let out a quiet sigh and tried to relax her muscles as much as she could before gently reapplying pressure and giving a slight push of her aching bladder muscles.

Suddenly, she felt it as if in slow motion, her body gave up and her bladder gave in to the dam that was already threatening to break. Zoe only meant to go a little bit, but that little push she gave was more like a shove and there was nothing she could do to stop the aftermath. She was flooding her diaper whether she wanted to or not, so she just let it happen.

Hyperaware of all of the sensations happening, Zoe could feel the warmth spreading around her bottom as the padding was trying to soak up the torrential downpour. She felt the padding press up against her legs and her jeans as it expanded with warmth. Just as soon as it started, it was suddenly over, and with a few final spurts, the pain in her bladder lessened considerably. But the warmth remained. It was not only under her bottom, it was also in her cheeks as they burned red.

A quick glance down made Zoe blush even harder. While it might not be obvious to anyone else, it was certainly obvious to her how much her diaper had grown swollen.

“Everything all right back there, girls?” Amelia asked, turning around in her seat.

“Uhm, yeah, just ready to stretch my legs,” Zoe said, cursing herself for her slight stutter. She lifted her eyes to meet her mom’s curious gaze. “And Zara is fast asleep,” she added with a giggle, pointing a thumb at her sister who was drooling against the window.

She watched as Amelia’s eyes flicked over to Zara, lighting up in amusement before studying Zoe a moment longer. She gave Zoe a quizzical look before pointedly glancing down. Amelia had a vague idea of why Zoe’s stutter that had all but disappeared had returned but wasn’t about to outright ask.

Over the weekend, Amelia had allowed Zoe to use the bathroom still while making sure that she still wore pull ups. However Zoe had lost that privilege that morning as her real “punishment” started as she had explained to Zara. Keeping that in mind, Amelia could guess at what had happened. But she couldn’t complain.

For years they had tried to help battle Zoe’s anxieties and for whatever reason, this seemed to work. Even still, Amelia couldn’t say that she didn’t mind the idea of it all. It brought on a sort of closeness she hadn’t had with Zoe in years and though she was aware she was a mother, she didn’t exactly always feel like one. Though it was still hard to grapple with the fact that her oldest child was suddenly in diapers, there was a small part of her that missed having one of her children being more dependent on her. It gave her more of a purpose and she missed the connection. She enjoyed having such strong and independent children, but Amelia could never deny the small parts of parenting that she missed.

It was impossible for Zoe to miss Amelia’s pointed look, but she smiled back. It might have been a nervous smile, but it was a smile all the same. She wasn’t sure if her mother noticed, and if she did, she didn’t say a word.

Zoe had to admit that she felt surprisingly okay in her present situation. She felt safe and comfortable – perhaps a little too warm, but that was fine. There was a hint of embarrassment, but for now, she would focus on the good feelings. The last ten minutes of the drive before they reached their next rest stop allowed Zoe to spend time in a world of her own. It wasn’t until the car had stopped that she finally looked away from the window. What she saw didn’t make her happy, a feeling she very clearly shared with her mom based on the noise of disgust that she made.

“Zack,” Amelia said sharply, “where on Earth did you stop? This looks…” she hesitated for a moment before shaking her head at the rundown looking gas station in front of her. “This looks disgusting.”

Zack rubbed his neck, face twisting slightly. “Well, we were supposed to be near Marshall, but this isn’t what I expected,” Zack admitted. “How about we just stretch our legs for a few minutes and then just keep going? It’s only three more hours until we reach Dayton anyway and we can just get settled at the hotel. We can leave Zara asleep for now, but getting out wouldn’t be bad. Maybe I can grab us a drink or something.” Zack gave Amelia a pointed look before shutting the car off and getting out. Amelia let out a huff but followed suit.

Zoe, following her parent’s example got out of the car. She groaned as her stiff legs and tight muscles protested having to do any sort of movement. The longer the trip went on, the more stiff Zoe was becoming, and she had to admit that she was tired of sitting.

The other thing Zoe noticed as she tried to walk was that her diaper had grown considerably. It still felt dry and comfortable, which Zoe was silently relieved of since her pull ups tended to get an icky damp feeling after a while. The downside, however, was the saturated padding between her legs made walking a little harder. Due to her already short length she was waddling slightly.

“Zoe? Are you coming?” Amelia asked, turning back to look at Zoe hobbling awkwardly behind her. “Come on. Let’s go to the bathroom so we can start driving away.”

“Yeah, I’m coming,” Zoe said, appreciating that her mom didn’t draw further attention to her as she waddled along as best as she could. As they walked into the gas station, they did a quick loop around to try and find the bathroom.

When they didn’t find one, Amelia walked up to the cash register after shooting Zack a quick look as he browsed through the refrigerated drinks. “Uhm, excuse me,” Amelia said, giving a slight smile to the bored looking teenager that barely looked up at her. “Do you have a bathroom?”

“Yeah,” the boy said, not really looking up from his phone as he reached under the counter and tossed a key attached to a thick block of wood onto the countertop. “Outside around the corner.”

“Great,” Amelia muttered under her breath, giving Zoe a reassuring smile. “Let’s go take a look.”

The moment they made it outside and walked around the corner, Zoe’s face fell. There was a bathroom, all right, but no family bathroom sign. She looked over at Amelia who gave her a sheepish grin. “Well, maybe there’s a spot that will make it easy to change,” Amelia said hopefully. She walked up to the door that had a “Woman’s Bathroom” sign on the front, inserted the key into the lock and opened the door. Before Zoe could get close, Amelia made a noise of disgust and let the door shut as she walked away.

“I’m sorry,” Amelia said, shaking her head. “This place is absolutely disgusting. There is no way in Hell we are going to go here. Come on, Zoe.” Zoe obediently followed Amelia back into the gas station shop and watched as she tossed the key onto the counter and promptly left, leaving Zoe to scramble behind her. Before they reached the car, Amelia pulled Zoe off to the side.

“Zo, I can see that you’re not dry anymore, but I can’t and will not change you in that absolutely disgusting bathroom. So, there are two options.” Amelia sighed, looking over her shoulder to see if Zack was any nearer to returning just yet. When he wasn’t, she turned back around. “If you really need a change, then I can do it in the car. But if you think that you’ll be okay for a bit, I think it would be a little better to wait until we reach the hotel. It’s only a few more hours.”

“I can wait, I think,” Zoe said.

Amelia studied Zoe for a moment before nodding. “All right,” she said with a smile. “I really am sorry, though.”

“It’s all right. Don’t think it would have been a good idea anyway.”

Amelia gave Zoe a smile in response as they walked back to the car. As Zoe climbed back into her seat, she couldn’t help but giggle at Zara. She was still practically plastered to the window, mouth half-open with drool falling out of her mouth as she snored away. Zara was most definitely a lot of things, but a pretty sleeper was not one of them.

Zack returned to the car a few minutes later, passing both Amelia and Zoe drinks. “Let’s get out of here,” Amelia said, giving Zoe a look as she was about to open her bottle of Coke and instead put it away. “This place is absolutely disgusting.”

“You got it,” Zack said, driving away moments after buckling his seatbelt. And so, after a short break, the family was back on their way.

Zoe felt that the last leg of the drive for the day was going a lot smoother. She listened to her favorite podcast, resting her head against the cold window of the car, more than content to watch the world pass by. The rolling plains made way for the vibrant lights of Indianapolis, providing a stark contrast with the dark winter skies above.

It was fortunate that, despite the hour of the day, traffic was remaining relatively light. Before Zoe knew it, as they continued on their long trip to Vermont, the lights of Indianapolis faded into the background.

At one point, as they drove through their next city, Zoe started to feel the urge to go again. She tried to hold it, but after a little while, she decided to just give up. She had already used her diaper already and despite having already been made wet, she was positive that it could hold a little more. Zoe let go slowly, surprised at how little effort it took, feeling the familiar warmth between her legs as her pee spread itself along the saturated padding. She couldn’t help but squirm slightly as the padding forced her legs apart even more, but it wasn’t uncomfortable.

Realizing what she had done, a twinge of embarrassment shot through Zoe, but she forced herself to ignore it and refocused on her podcast. However a new feeling came up that was proving harder to ignore. She winced as she felt her stomach start to rumble.

“Mom? Dad?” Zoe asked. “How much longer do we have?” She didn’t bother to keep the hint of whininess out of her voice.

“Another twenty minutes, Zo,” Amelia replied from behind the wheel. She had swapped with Zack two hours previously after stopping at a different gas station to get gas.

“Everything okay back there?” Zack asked, twisting himself in his seat.

“Yeah,” Zoe said quietly. “Just kinda hungry.”

Zack was about to say something else, but his attention, along with Zoe’s, turned to Zara who woke up with a couple of soft gasps and an indescribable noise before following with a groan of disgust.

“Ew, gross,” Zara muttered as she wiped her face with Zoe watching on in amusement. She rubbed her eyes as she took a look around to try and figure out where they were. “Are we there yet?”

“Twenty more minutes, sleepyhead,” Zack said.

“Okay,” Zara yawned as she sat up a little straighter. She took another look around before looking over at Zoe, her face twisting slightly as she tried to study her sister as they passed under streetlights. “What’s wrong with you? You’re sitting weird.”

“Nothing,” Zoe said, perhaps a little too quickly.

Zara was quiet for a moment before a knowing look crossed her face. “Oh,” Zara said with a smirk. “Did you –?”

“No,” Zoe said quickly, her face heating up. She was grateful that it was dark out and that they passed under each streetlight overhead a little too quickly so it wasn’t as obvious that she was blushing. Luckily Zara dropped the subject quickly, becoming more fascinated with what was going on outside and allowing for Zoe’s embarrassment to subside.

Before too long, they finally pulled up to their hotel. A La Quinta Inn that Zack had booked months ago. It was a newly built building and it was enough for Zack to want to book it. He pulled up to the reception area, turning the car off and ushering everyone out of the car.

“Might as well get out and stretch before we head into our rooms,” Zack said, stretching his arms overhead. Zoe didn’t need to be told twice.

She scrambled out of the car, groaning as she stretched her legs. It felt like she had been in the car for years. As she looked down at her feet as she stretched them out in front of her, she was slightly startled. The diaper that hadn’t been so obvious earlier could now be more seen. Granted she was sure people would have to know what to look for, but then again, she wasn’t sure. Trying to squash down the embarrassment she felt, she found her mom looking at her with a supportive smile. Zoe should have realized that what her mom said next would make her want to wish a hole would swallow her into the ground.

“Don’t worry,” Amelia said. “As soon as we’re checked in and in our rooms, I’ll get you changed, Love.”

Zoe could hear Zara snicker quietly, but thankfully after Amelia’s chastising earlier, she didn’t say a word. She was sure that Zara had to find it an absolutely amusing situation. Sure, Zara might have felt for Zoe a little bit and couldn’t imagine being in the same situation, but it was still funny to see her wearing a diaper.

As the exhausted family trudged into the lobby of the hotel, they made their way to the reception desk where a young woman was standing. She looked up from whatever she was reading, giving everyone a smile.

“Hi, welcome to the La Quinta. Are you checking in?”

“Yes,” Amelia said, fumbling on her phone as she searched through her e-mails. “We booked adjoining rooms under the name di Luca.”

“Sure,” the receptionist said, her tone cheery. “Did you have a reservation number?”

“I’m trying to find it,” Amelia said sheepishly.

“No worries. I can try looking you up. Di Luca – is that with a C or a K?”

“With a C,” Amelia said with a slight sigh.

“Perfect. Do you have ID?”

With another sigh, Amelia reached into her purse and pulled out her wallet, reluctantly placing her ID on the counter.

“Excellent, Amelia,” the receptionist said with a smile. “Welcome! I see that you have one room with a queen bed and booked an adjoining room with two doubles. I also see in your requests that you asked that we fit one of the beds with an additional mattress protector?”

At this, the receptionist looked up at the family as if she was deciding which of them needed the additional protection. Zoe just kept her mantra playing in her head – act cool, act cool, act cool…

After confirming a few more details, the receptionist passed over two small booklets with key cards. “Here are your keys,” she said. “You’ll all be on the third floor. Thank you for choosing La Quinta and we hope you enjoy your stay. Please feel free to give us a call down here if you need anything!”

“Thank you,” Amelia said. She waved Zack off to go park the car and gather their bags and led Zoe and Zara to the elevator.

It seemed like it took forever to get to their rooms, but Zoe was pleasantly surprised as Zara opened the door to their room and they were greeted with cozy looking beds. Without caring, Zoe settled on the bed closest to the door, dropping onto the mattress with an exhausted moan. She could already feel herself starting to drift off but she was interrupted by Zara.

“Uhm, Zo?” Zara said. “This one’s yours. It’s got like, a plastic sheet or something underneath it and it’s crinkly.”

“Okay,” Zoe muttered, too tired to care or bother to move. She heard an annoyed grumble but mostly tuned everything out until there was a knock at the nearby adjoining door.

“Zoe, Honey?” she heard Amelia say as the door opened. Amelia smiled slightly as Zoe seemingly already half-asleep and turned her head towards the bathroom where the shower was running. It appeared that Zara had slept far too long to be exhausted and had jumped into action.

“Zoe?” Amelia repeated, causing Zoe to sit up, bleary-eyed. “Did you want to use the shower in our room since Zara’s already taking hers?”

“Oh,” Zoe said with a yawn. “Yeah, that would be nice.” She very slowly climbed off the bed, waddling after her mom into her parent’s room. She followed Amelia into the bathroom, leaning against the sink as her mom turned on the water for her.

“Call me when you’re done, okay?” Amelia said, giving Zoe a small smile before closing the door.

Zoe let out another yawn before starting to undress. She pulled her hoodie off, folding it just enough to barely sit on the sink and then pulled off her t-shirt, shivering as the cool air hit her torso. It was a slight struggle for her to pull her jeans down over her swollen diapered butt, but she managed. She took off her bra with a relieved groan and she wiggled her toes as she took off her socks, shivering once more as her feet touched the cool tile.

Zoe was about to strip off her diaper, but she paused when she caught herself in the mirror. Reflected back at her was a now naked from the waist up young woman – no, little girl, she corrected herself – with green eyes and dark brown hair. She was curvy, and unlike her paler sister who took after her dad, she was blessed with her mother’s light olive skin. Her brows furrowed slightly as she took herself in closer. Everything from the waist down appeared to be in contrast to her adult body as she was clad in a very thick and slightly sagging wet diaper that bulged in all directions.

Curious, Zoe ran her hands across the bulky padding across her front. It was no wonder she was waddling as much as she was. Even after having wearing it for a long time, she found that the diaper still felt comfortable and safe. Plus, she had to admit as she turned herself in the mirror to look at herself from a different angle, she looked kind of cute. Things just felt right to her, even if it was sometimes embarrassing.

But then again, a little voice in Zoe’s head spoke up, was that such a bad thing?

So far, so good, Zoe decided.

She reached her hand into the water, testing the temperature. Satisfied that it had reached the right temperature, Zoe stripped off her diaper, deposited it into the trashcan after a quick inspection, and stepped into the water.

Stepping into a shower had never felt so perfect to Zoe in her life. The hot water provided immense relief to her incredibly sore muscles. It was a mystery to her how doing nothing and sitting in a car all day could be so tiring and so painful. She washed herself slowly, sleep threatening to take over with each movement. If she could, she would happily sleep in the bath beneath the warm water. It sounded like a luxurious idea.

After around twenty minutes, there was a soft knock at the door.

“That’s long enough, Zo,” she heard Amelia say. “I don’t want you coming out looking like a wrinkly old prune. Plus it’s time for bed – we’re leaving really early.”

“Okay,” Zoe replied, reluctantly turning off the shower and quickly rubbing herself dry. She froze as she looked around the room, realizing that she had a problem. “Uhm, Mom? I don’t have any clothes in here?”

“That’s okay,” Amelia said. “I have your pajamas out here. You can come out. I sent your dad to go get ice, and I locked the doors so no one will come in.”

Uncertain, Zoe opened the door, peeking her head around the corner cautiously. Satisfied there was really no one else in the room, she walked out, careful to keep her towel wrapped around her body.

“Here’s your t-shirt, Zo,” Amelia said, handing Zoe one of her favored yellow t-shirts that she liked to sleep in. Zoe quickly put it on before her mom gestured for her to lay down on the bed. She felt her face immediately turned red as she very slowly did exactly that.

Much to Zoe’s embarrassment, Amelia yanked the towel down over her hips, causing Zoe to squeal in surprise. Amelia ignored Zoe’s noise of surprise as she reached over and grabbed a tube, squirting its contents onto her fingers. “We don’t want any rashes,” Amelia said, carefully applying cream to Zoe’s body. “After sitting in that diaper for so long, I want to be extra careful. Trust me – you won’t want them.” As if Zoe needed an explanation, Amelia told her all about what would happen if she didn’t apply the cream and she shuddered at the thought.

“All right, lift up,” Amelia said, tapping Zoe’s butt slightly when she finished with the cream. “Let’s get you in a fresh diaper.”

Obediently, Zoe lifted her bottom, forcing herself to stare up at the ceiling. She listened to the sound of rustling as her nighttime diaper was slid underneath her. She could feel her face growing redder and redder by the minute. Somehow this was more embarrassing than in the morning.

“Okay, and down,” Amelia said gently before awkwardly fastening the tapes. She studied the diaper for a moment before loosening them and refastening them a little tighter. “Is that all right, Love? Does that feel fine?”

“Yeah, I think so,” Zoe said, sitting up. She climbed off the bed, moving around to test the feel. She immediately noticed that this diaper felt slightly thicker than her other one and she couldn’t close her legs at all. Despite that, it felt very soft and very comfortable. She reached over for her pajama bottoms and pulled them on, momentarily startled as they snagged underneath her butt as she tried to pull them over the diaper. She looked up at Amelia who was studying her.

“You seem to enjoy this, Zo,” Amelia said softly. “You look more relaxed than you have in a very long time. Although you do certainly turn into a delightfully red tomato,” she teased.

“I do like it so far,” Zoe admitted. “It just feels carefree, and it’s nice to be taken care of for a bit.” She hesitated for a moment before giving Amelia a quick hug and a quiet thank you. Amelia simply hugged her back before giving her a playful tap on the butt.

“All right, go to sleep Zo,” Amelia said. “It’ll be an early day. And don’t forget to brush your teeth!” she added as Zoe started to return to her room.

“Yeah, yeah,” Zoe said, dismissing her mom. However she did make it back to the bathroom noticing that Zara was asleep. Zoe quickly brushed her teeth and drank two glases of water before crawling under her blankets. Before her head could hit her pillow, she was fast asleep.

Selena here posting on Avery's behalf as the oh so faithful editor. Sighhhhh. Oh, how I love them dearly.

The one time I let Avery post the next chapter by themselves and this is what happens! 🤪 All joking aside - super sorry about that everyone! You got a bit of a preview of the next chapter uhhh...just a touch early. Fixed up the previous post to reflect what should have been the original bit, so now everything should read as it should. Had I noticed it I would have fixed it, but I'm not on the site as often right now.

Sssooooo the current installment wasn't a repost exactly so much as uploaded waaaayyyy too early. Next bit should be up soonish and with the correct amount of chapter this time.

Thank you for bearing with us! Things have gotten exceptionally chaotic over the past few weeks and we're working through the little things that crop up. There's definitely more story coming. :3
