  1. Is it racism to fear muslims?

So, a thing I've been hearing a lot when I state my opinion, be it on the internet or in real life, I often find myself in the minority, being called out as a racist or a sociopath. Though I don't see myself as one, I mean, I have nothing against other races in general, I don't dislike black people (politically correct term: People of Color, which is also a term that can be up for debate) So, the thing is, when it comes to these matters, the discussion of Muslims, more precisely, the refugees and asylum seekers, I lean towards the view of "I don't want them here". I live in Iceland, so we don't get too much of them, but enough for people to form opinions of them. I have a couple of points that support my opinion of this, as I will mention below. So, first off, there is the number of them that don't do anything but feed off the system, refusing to adjust to society. They demand that we change our ways and lifestyle, our traditions and such, just so THEY, a wast minority, can feel more comfortable. For example, schools can not celebrate Christmas anymore, instead it's just a "Winter Holiday". Schools can not serve Bacon or pork at the cafeteria anymore, because it is offensive for the muslim children. We must also break all our great female rights improvements, because we can't interfere when we see the mans in the family disrespect and straight out offend and belittle the women, because "That's just what their religion is like". It drives me insane, to just have to watch, otherwise I'm accused of hate crime. When I say that they feed off the system, I am referring to 8 out of 10 families that moved to my town in 2012, and after the deal with the government, which meant they get supported for 3 years after they start living here, ran out, they all moved to Denmark, to start living on THEIR system. I find it unfair, why is it accepted that they don't need to work for their money? Their income? As for the other 2 families, the oldest boy of that family started working as a support teacher in my elementary school. Two years later it is found out he sexually abused 3 12 year old girls, by manipulating them into thinking he cared for them. A boy from one of the families, not sure which one out of the ten, in 2012, snapped at school, in seventh grade, and drew out a knife in the middle of class and threatened a few class mates and attempted to stab the teacher. Two policemen showed up about 10 minutes later and he ran towards them and attacked them, although he didn't manage to hurt anyone. In the end, the cops only calmed him down a bit and then class was continued as if nothing had happened, anybody said a word it'd have been a hate crime or disrespectful. This case never made it to the newspapers, it was held secret by the principal and no one was allowed to talk about it. I know this in such detail because I witnessed it, I was in 10th grade at the time and was cutting class, walking past that very classroom. Then in 2015, 50 single male refugees were all put in a small town not too far from mine. None of those 50 males have a job, there have been 3 cases of them acting all pervy, one was repeatedly seen in the male's locker room while children from third grade were taking their swimming class. Another kept stalking a young female pre-school teacher every night, as she walked home from work. Yet another one revolved around a group of 20 who kept harassing children on the bus to Iceland's capital city Reykjavik. Parents were afraid to send their children with the bus. Speaking of that very group of 20, I have had an encounter with them twice, they go to the capital every day, spending the money they get from the government on drugs and alcohol, albeit they always reek of weed and booze. I happened to journey with them in the bus both ways one friday afternoon. The trip TO Reykjavik, they all sat in the back of the bus, in a group of 15, blasting some Arabian pop music, distracting other passengers. I thought about saying something, but kept my mouth shut, I was afraid of what a group of 15 would do to me, as I sat there all alone. The bus driver asked them twice to lower the music, but they just laughed at him and called him something in Arabic. The incident on the way BACK however, is what sits in me a bit more. I happen to ride with them on the way back. It was all fine on the way out of the city, except for when on the last stop, they suddenly all go apeshit crazy over something. I look to the right, out the window of where the bus stop is, and there I see a woman surrounded by 3 men who appear to be refugees. The woman, looked to be in her mid-thirties, had apparently pushed them away from her while they were taking videos of her with their phones in her face. When she pushed one of them, he dropped his phone, causing it to break. The group inside the bus are yelling and screaming, the three outside are pushing the woman and calling her names. She runs away, across the street, but they had to catch the bus. The bus is stopped though for a while because the muslims need this to be sorted out, the woman had apparently overstepped her boundaries. The woman has now called her boyfriend or a friend of some sorts and is sitting in his car with tears in her eyes. The police shows up and takes down notes from all the muslims. While she interviews one, the others yell at the woman that she is a freak, a monster, fat, ugly and whatnot. The bus driver is also interviewed, he tells the cops about what happened from a neutral perspective and also files complaints about their behavior during the rides, and is told that he should try and not provoke them on the ride back. That in itself I find preposterous, why did the police not give them a warning not to distract other passengers, or show the bus driver some respect? This case did not make the papers either, I've seen less interesting articles pop up in the papers, so why not talk about this one? So that's my personal experience of the refugees and asylum seekers, but then there is the matter of terrorism in the neighboring countries, like Germany for instance. I am just generally afraid of terrorists sneaking into the country alongside the refugees, even if it might just be 1 out of a 1000, that's still a risk. Do we want to accidentally refuge a rapist, a child molester or a cold-blooded murderer? Is that just a whoopsie-daisy we're prepared to take? If you think of it like this, it could be YOUR child, parent or sibling that gets raped or blown up, would you still consider it a "Risk that must be taken"? I honestly don't want to lose anyone close to me, and if that means shutting out people that might need help, then I'll do it. It's the concept of sacrificing 1 to save hundreds. I don't know, is that just me and my racism talking? Or does my fear and distrust seem logical to you?
