  1. Happy birthday, Megumin. How nice that her birthday is so close to mine. And new stuff for her spinoff anime next year releases, so let's be ready.
  2. My first time doing a request, from @Grenn34. I wouldn't normally think anything of requests, but you say Mega Man, I'm in. So today, we have Fairy Leviathan of the Four Guardians, doing her thing in her natural habitat. Went through some serious hell getting this exported. Because she's underwater (which I wish I could have shown clearer, I don't know how to add a background in Aseprite, and I couldn't animate her smoothly bobbing in place), her pee would naturally be a translucent cloud, an effect I achieved by having the cloud layer have lower opacity. Yes, every frame of it fading away was a separate layer. Anyway, turns out Aseprite can't export gifs with layers, which normally isn't an issue, but it flattened the cloud layers and removed their opacity adjustments. No other formats would help. From all the trial and error, it seemed like my best bet was exporting each frame as a PNG, uploading that to Pixiv, and manually adjusting each frame's duration (a total of 103 frames). But even that didn't look right while previewing, the transparency just wasn't coming through right. That was when I realized it was correct, but Windows Photos has a dark background, so the cloud looked dirtier than it should have. And it hit me then: just add a white background. That removes any layer issues because it has something to blend into, and because of the transparency, it would look wrong on anything other than a light-colored background anyway.
  3. Since it's available for streaming now, I watched Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night. I'll say I enjoyed it more than the other SAO movie, Ordinal Scale, because this one didn't feel as "anime movie". By that, I mean it actually felt canon, and didn't do things that break series tone just to give a big "hype" moment. I did hear that, for a movie series that aims to adapt the "true" Sword Art Online story, they changed some stuff, so that's sad and funny. Maybe one of those changes was removing the trashy stuff SAO is so known for, because this movie had class. Asuna had a bath scene, but not only did we see nothing sensual in the bath, we didn't even see her underwear before getting in. The SAO I know would never have let an opportunity like that slip them by. If anything, the fact that it's a movie and not a TV series, I figured they would have gone the Rebuild of Evangelion route and added nipples that weren't there before. I might be proud of your restraint, SAO. Then again, maybe one of those changes was demoting Argo to a small cameo, which is sad. I watched the movie dubbed because it was available, I like dubs, and I like the SAO dub, so here's a bit of trivia: despite the large number of Sword Art Online video games available, all of them are strictly Japanese language voices. They started coming out at a time "no dubs" was common in anime games, and even though that has shifted in recent years, Bandai Namco is sticking to tradition. The only time Bryce Papenbrook and Cherami Leigh got to reprise their roles as Kirito and Asuna, respectively, in a video game was as DLC bosses in Tales of Arise.
  4. There's a new Godzilla comic coming, titled "Mothra vs. Titanosaurus". An odd pairing, to be sure, considering the two have never interacted before, not even in Godzilla Island if my research is to be believed. Although, they did fight in my story, so maybe that's where the idea came from...
