  1. Uploading of 8GB is always a problem when you can re-encode or edit. Large files take up a lot of space on cloud drives, take long to upload, download and take up a lot of HDD space. With a pretty fast 20Mbps upload, it would take around 1 hour to upload 8GB, and if the connection get broken, you’d often need to restart the upload. So, as a person working with large video files on a daily basis, I can tell you 8GB is still considered a pretty huge file for online distribution.
  2. Yes, that is an universal sign used in that company, and it basically means „I need a break” (for whatever reasons).

  4. Just to clarify for those less tech-savvy; Technically, reducing filesize (while keeping original duration) equals reducing the bitrate. However, newer/better codecs can be better in preserving the quality with lower bitrates - e.g. you can take xvid video and make it 4 times smaller by compressing it with h.264, and the quality will be (almost) the same, though never the same.

  6. Well, if your definition of stalking were true, half of people in cafés, bars, clubs and on the streets would be deemed stalkers. They do look at other people. And no, you can’t stop them. That’s how being in public works. Also, changing seats to get a better view (on anything really) and better comfort is a pretty popular thing I’m afraid. Yes, in my life I’ve changed seats dozens of times to have a better view. Sue me. I’d already be a millionaire if I could sue people looking at me... through bus windows. Most dictionaries define stalking as stealthy following somebody ove
  7. I was recording a view through a bus window, in a public setting, and I have not published the recording. Can you elaborate how is that illegal or even creepy? Sorry, which part do you consider „stalking”? Riding on the same bus? Watching someone sitting across the aisle?
  8. Agreed. That is exactly why I didn’t follow anyone.
  9. Ok, understood. I don’t want no trouble here. However, just out of curiosity - what happens if people completely anonymize a video/photo, i.e. if they alter the content to the point of the person being totally unrecognizable? This is quite popular in TV news footage, random people get their faces blurred in post-production so they cannot get recognized - and cannot sue. Basically, most laws allow recording and publishing photos and footage taken in a public setting.
  10. Well, actually, surprise surprise - I was able to shoot some footage. Not sure if it’s okay to post it here?
  11. This is definitely my best desperation (of a stranger) sighting over the last few years. So, the bus ride scenario is pretty popular and this is what it was. I was waiting at the bus stop and my bus was already late. When it finally arrived maybe 20 minutes behind schedule, I hopped in with my luggage and made my way towards ticket machine. Due to pandemic, some seats had to be left vacant so I spotted perhaps the last suitable seat near the driver. Sitting across the aisle from me, there she was. An attractive, but not super-pretty girl: around 20, white sneakers, tight black pants, lig
  12. One of the best I have seen this year. Just the right amount of desperation and struggle + nice soundtrack. Also, perfect scenario of coming home from work inna desperate state.
