  1. Today is the day I'm going to find my own unique art style. I've been taking my favorite works from artists and saving them. I'm going to try and list down everything I don't like in art styles so I know what to avoid. I'll then draw a character while mixing my favorite parts from different works I saved until I find a style I like. I'll tinker with it for a bit more until I'm satisfied with the result. Can't wait to see if this works!

I wish you the best of luck in finding your style!

Hey, I wish you luck!  Don't stress too hard about it, though --- I think modern artists tend to put a lot of stock into the idea of their own style, and it might be discouraging if you can't figure out something that is appealing as well as unique.

Personally, I tend to look at style on a per-project basis so that I don't feel too "locked into" anything.  My omo-art is fairly manga-inspired, but I'd say I'm technically more skilled in realistic and surreal stuff (albeit with physical media).

All that matters is that you're learning from others and drawing!  Your practice here actually sounds like it will be fantastic, as it will give you an idea of how some of your favorite artists solve different "problems" --- so even if you don't manage to walk away with a unique "style", I think you will still definitely have benefited from the exercise!  Good luck!  😄

That's awesome to hear! I wish you luck on finding your style and I hope it's a fun experience that leaves you feeling accomplished! And hey, even if your style doesn't emerge today, just keep on trying! Practice makes improvement as they say ❤️
