  1. I'm back on the road again tomorrow. Two or three days behind the wheel and who knows how many stops. My car's tank goes from full to empty in about 6 to 8 hours. Unless I'm not drinking much, my own goes from empty to full in about half that time.
  2. Nearly all the women in my circle of friends are what you'd call "outdoorsy". They hike, bike and do other things that take them close to nature, and usually far from toilets. I can personally attest that most have peed outdoors and am pretty sure the others have, as well. As for those who haven't squatted, I guess they prefer to stand.
  3. If you need another reason why you shouldn't pee in the toilet, you must read this: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/17/climate/peecycling-farming-urine-fertilizer.html
  4. Whatever it is you're doing, keep doing it. No matter how well you do with your holding challenge, there's absolutely no way you're going to be "dry" for long.
  5. Thanks for another great story. Nice seeing how this thread has developed a life of its own.
  6. FYI, it's not just women with OAB! I probably have at least an average-sized bladder, but I tend to drink like I've got an extra large!
  7. It almost always is!! Hopefully during those last few seconds, I've managed to aim at an appropriate receptacle. I'm also fortunate that my anatomy gives me something I can clamp off until the very last moment.
  8. Ahhh, this is something we can look forward to as we get older. I can just imagine a situation with a couple seniors who have recently gotten acquainted. On one of their first dates, they take a nature walk which winds up being lengthier than they intended when they set out. Between her weakened pelvic muscles and his enlarged prostate that keeps his bladder always somewhat full, it's going to create some interesting tension, both still trying on be on their best behavior so early in their dating.
  9. As a somewhat competitive male, I certainly don't like losing these contests. While I may win more than I don't, I've had some women totally embarrass me by how long and how much they held.
  10. I was a bit teasing when I called it punishment. I'm pretty sure you're doing this by your own choice. Your bladder, on the other hand, may see things differently. I agree that it's a good idea to only drink 500ml every half hour. How long do you hope to hold?
  11. Since you've been bad, I think you ought to be punished. How about we add another 500ml to what you need to drink? And maybe you need to look at the toilet every 10 minutes (go ahead and flush it), but notice that the lid is securely locked down.
  12. Hope I'm not to late to offer encouragement. Not sure how full you are right now, but my suggestion would be anywhere but a toilet. How about in front of me?
  13. The difference may be in how much they're expected to hold. I think incontinence underwear is good for leaks and occasional spurts. Diapers on the other hand can hold all or most of a full bladder, if yours isn't too large.
  14. Jill, I'd really really really like to see you get your opportunity to tinkle. Perhaps you could work this into a desperation story, but maybe have a not so frustrating ending.
  15. Most of the women I've hiked with don't have an issue, either. Usually we'll pee just feet from one another, sometimes at the same time.
  16. Let's not forget that the male urogenital system is designed for expelling. The female's seems better for retaining.
  17. You're welcome! That's the point of this community, making others feel more comfortable. Well, maybe every other place but their bladder.
  18. In that case, I'd make a point of always be drinking when I'm around you.
  19. Perhaps we could make this work if a large enough group of both men and women volunteered. While we would be self-reporting our capacities, I'd like to think most all of us would be truthful with answers and those that did exaggerate were equally represented by both genders. For those trans and non-binary, I suppose we would create separate data bases. I would ask that we record both the volume as well as the time since we last emptied our bladder. It would also be very helpful if we reported whether we held until at the point we were uncomfortable enough that we would pee if given the opportunity (usually around 8/10) or held until the bursting point (i.e. 9.5+). On my hikes, most women seemed to have to pee before I did, some two, even three times. But, there were a number who could totally outlhold me. Some were probably just as full as me, but they had trained their bladder to not give in through the course of a day. So, based on my field observations, I would venture a guess that women in general reach an 8 at smaller volumes than men, but a higher percentage hold until they absolutely are no longer able and their maxed-out capacities can easily equal or even outdo them. (Let's hope they can get it all in the jar.)
  20. I'm not likely to urinate when riding a bicycle, as the seated position and constant motion suppress the urge. But, if I've been holding back a full bladder, there's a very good chance I'll need to pee almost as soon as I step off. There's a good reason I usually pull out my water bottle to take a big post-ride drink. Somehow, a lot of the water always seems to miss my mouth and totally soaks my shorts.
  21. Let's see, 2 liters within a span of 40 minutes.... I'm sure you won't be a dry member for long.
  22. Kate, I suppose you should ask yourself if you are reasonably satisfied with your current situation. Do you enjoy peeing every 1-1.5 hours (for many, the very act of emptying their bladder is a most pleasant sensation ) or rather be able to hold longer and enjoy that full-filling feeling, but go less often? And, does the need to wear protection limit your attire or the activities you wish to partake, or make you feel uncomfortable or embarrassed by your condition? If you can be happy with the way you are, I say embrace it.
  23. That would be most every day for me. And, usually I still keep my clothing dry. While I'll often hold as long as I can, I'll eventually need to relieve myself a few times. If not the outdoors, there's the utility sink, the bucket under my desk, a big cup, the empty water bottle in my car, a towel.... A good pee is always wasted in a toilet.
  24. That's probably gotten more women over their shyness than just about anything.
