  1. Alright, I've identified the source of the issue and have a bug report filed and this should be fixed in the next update. The issue is when file uploads are being chunked, some important filesystem logic is being skipped that truncates filenames if they exceed 255 characters in length. When this is not done, the filesystem will fail to process the upload as the filename it is using is simply too long for the filesystem to handle. Normally, this is not an issue if the file is under 100MB in size, as this skips the file chunking requirement, but anything over that is currently impacted
  2. The issue does appear related to the filenames in question but it's not a locale or encoding issue, it's something else I haven't narrowed down yet. Other long uploads with Japanese text in the filenames go through without issue, and it's not a problem when the file itself is under 100MB, so it's something specific to when the uploads are being buffered and the filenames are formatted a specific way. I'll let you know once I have the issue narrowed down and resolved, but it should be a rare issue from what I can tell.
  3. Actually after further review it seems I was only half-right. It is indeed an issue with the chunked uploading system, but the problem is an incompatibility with some of our server modifications and the new uploading system on specific files that exceed 100MB. The server software is failing to finalize these uploads, though the reason why is a little more complicated. I'll have this fixed soon nonetheless.
  4. I appreciate you wanting to help, you are not quite right on the issue at hand however. This is not an encoding or system locale issue. We're a largely Japanese/anime themed website that has been around for over 10 years now, so we naturally have a ton of files that utilize Japanese filenames and the likes, so this is nothing new for us. I believe the issue was caused when Rachel tried to process/submit multiple downloads at the same time and it ended up causing some of the download sessions to overlap and the wrong file ID's were associated to some of the files. The problem was mult
  5. Unfortunately it seems there was a glitch that caused this file upload to fail on submission, which is why it was removed. Sorry for the inconvenience and confusion, I'm looking into what may have caused this to happen and will try and ensure it doesn't occur again.

Just want to say thanks for staying on top of all of the hiccups from the server move 🙂  Doing great work.

  7. I'm still working out a few minor styling issues and working on bringing back some missing customized features onto the site, but for the most part it seems like things are running stable.

For the nerds out there, here is a quick preview of OmoOrg's new server specifications:
    unknown[1].png

In short, we've doubled our servers storage capacity from 6TB to nearly 12TB, doubled our servers available memory, upgraded from a standard SSD for the database and OS drive to a 1TB NVMe SSD and finally upgraded to a much, much more powerful server processor.

In short, things should hopefully be much faster now, we have much more room to scale, and our new servers motherboard even supports upgrading OmoOrg to a 10Gbps network in the future if needed.

Next on the list, I plan to make some overhauls to OmoOrg's gallery system to hopefully make it easier to navigate and use, something I know has been needing improvement for a long time now.

  8. Maki, do you have the image of a reindeer girl in schoolgirl uniform wetting herself while waiting for the bathroom? I can't seem to find it.

Yes that's it. I was asking if he uploaded it in the gallery first because I was thinking about uploading it here. But if Maki uploaded it first then I don't want upload it cause somebody already did it, It'll be stealing his art and I don't do that. So I guessing Maki has it on his page then.

I actually just had a look on google to be honest haha, but I'm sure that it's fine as long as you credit the artist in the description 🙂

  9. If you're seeing this, that means you're on our new server! Thank you for your patience during our extended downtime today.

This will be the first major upgrade to OmoOrg's server infrastructure in years, so there may be some bugs and kinks to work out, please bear with us!

Additionally, as you may have noticed, we've made some upgrades to OmoOrg's underlying software, introducing some new small quality of life features and further improving overall site performance.

If you run into any issues or have any feedback to share, please don't hesitate to post it in our Feedback forums!

The Guidelines [and hence the DNP list] were always in the website footer before, but I'm unable to find them now.  Where was the link moved to?

    3. Maki

@Kei you can find the guidelines here:
      https://www.omorashi.org/guidelines

I'll add the link back to the footer as well, thanks for pointing that out!

    4. Kei

I've cleared my cache and cookies but it's still not appearing in the footer.  I am using dark mode.

  10. Yeah, I'm stepping in and going to shut this down. Aside from the concerns of these individuals possibly being underage, this is pretty shady behavior and not the kind of thing we want to support or condone here.
