Aaron 402
Knickers and panties are basically synonymous, with knickers being much more of a British word and panties being used much more in the states. Personally I find the word 'knickers' being just a bit more erotic when used in a sexual/omorashi context, such as when a girl says something like "I'm gunnu wet my knickers in a minute" as she squirms around and holds herself. As a Brit I am more use to hearing the word "knickers". In school I would hear other kids say things like "Did you hear about Kirsty? She wet her knickers in Ms Stephens' class." Presumably this is where my preference comes from. How about you guys? nappypants and Beatrix 2 Quote Link to comment
M1ndblow 100
With english not beeing my mother tongue I don't really prefer one word over the other. But if I had to choose one, it'd probably pick "panty" because I'm definitely more used to read this word. When it comes to porn genres "panty wetting" is a more common expression than "knicker wetting". Therefore I think that "panty" has a more sexy touch. Besides all that, when it comes to phonetics I also find this word more pretty. Beatrix 1 Quote Link to comment
WaityKaty 1,171
It doesn't really make any difference to me. I'd never, ever, say "panties" in real life. No one here does that. I tend to switch between "knickers" and "undies". I've noticed that where I live, Queensland, "knickers" seems to be a little bit more provincial, but maybe I'm imagining that. BloopBloop 10
I think I prefer panties to knickers, but that might only be because panties is American and exotic. When I used to tease my girlfriend I would say "Aww.. Did you wet your panties" rather than knickers because we thought it was cuter. Beatrix and guywetter 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Bigtony12 0
I would totaly agree that 'knickers' is really a fantastic turn on. One of my fav videos is WP - 040 from 'wetting her panties' where the model announces that she is 'wetting her knickers' twice. Anybody else have this preference? Quote Link to comment
Missypee 1,271
I'm not from the UK , but it seems knickers is the most common or as Katy says "undies" in my state too Beatrix 1 Quote Link to comment
Fred46888 201
Knickers would be a term more likely in the UK, while panties would be heard in the US. In the US at least, they apply only to female underpants, though curiously some posters have used them for male. Quote Link to comment

I'm also use to the term undies covering both panties and men's briefs. In Australia at least, I won't try and guess about the rest of the Commonwealth, "knickers" is strictly a term for women's underwear. Undies does work for both men and women though. WetDave 650
I'd say knickers but then I'm English. Even so knickers has a slightly old fashioned feel about it these days - it's the sort of word my grandmother would have used. But I can't bring myself to say "panties" - it is a very American word, to my ears at least. To be honest I don't actually have a good word in my vocabulary for these ladies undergarments. for men I'd say pants but this is obviously a little confusing for our friends in the USA who say pants when they mean trousers. Are there any words we can use unambiguously for all English-speaking nations that distinguish between male and female underwear? Beatrix 1 Quote Link to comment
TVGuy 10,658 Posted September 24, 2016 🌟 OmoOrg VIP Share Posted September 24, 2016 Growing up on the west coast of the USA, my primary cultural influences were from California and Hollywood. I had never even heard the word "knickers" until I was an early teen. Even though, I had no idea what that word even meant. Some how, in my early adolescent mind, I determined that "knickers" referred to some kind of British snack food, much like crumpets, which I also didn't really have any clue what they were. It was only a few years later, when I got online and started reading stories about women wetting their knickers that I started to figure out that they weren't talking about peeing on their food and that knickers were some kind of garment. Still, I imagined knickers being some kind of a giant, very European, Renaissance era garment. It took me a while to figure out that when I read the word "knickers" in these stories that the writer was referring what I just considered regular women's panties. alexwbj 1 Quote Link to comment
Barry 1,608
Perhaps the best way to settle this would be for all the ladies to post pictures of their wet knickers or wet panties, and us guys could vote on it? BloopBloop, WetDave and moiamigo 3 Quote Link to comment
Spurgle 471
In generic everyday use it's always knickers and the reason Is simple, with my accent the word panties just sounds silly. However I do sometimes favour panties as a word when I'm writing, I feel it's more universally understood. Beatrix 1 Quote Link to comment
Aaron 402
Some great responses and TVGuy did amuse me very much :) I now remember that I asked the same question a few years ago on another forum. Then it was for a practical reason. I was writing an omorashi novel and wanted to know which word, knickers or panties, would appeal most to a general audience. Being British I much prefer to hear the word 'knickers' used in an omorashi context, and used that word when I was writing it to keep my arousal up and produce the best erotica that I could. For example: Everyone was staring at her. She was painfully desperate for the toilet. It was going to happen in her knickers any second and the damn classroom door was stuck. She made one last effort, one last frantic pull on the door handle. Then it happened. and Tammy pulled her wet knickers up over her burning buttocks then reluctantly she stripped off her blouse and kicked off her soaking wet shorts. Her pee had cooled now, so at least her wet knickers took some of the throbbing heat out of her bottom. Then I reluctantly did a search and replace. In case anyone is interested, it's called The Puddle Club: Permission Denied and stretches to over 84,000 words. It's a complete novel, not just a set of stories. Quote Link to comment
Flower 127
I have always called them pants haha. I'm in Australia and its either knickers, undies or jocks. I teach little kids and the girls call them "knickies" and I have to stop myself calling them. That in adult company haha Quote Link to comment
Pee Tee 95
When I was growing up in England, (in the days of Yore!) we generally said that boys wore underpants and girls wore knickers, so for me it is wetting knickers that turns me on the most, but panties comes a close second. We used to call underpants just pants, and I still do, but I guess we started using the word underpants because of Americans calling trousers pants. I'm happy enough with either knickers or panties for womens' underwear but I generally use panties on forums like this as I think it is more internationally understood. But reading the replies here it seems as though knickers is generally preferred in the commonwealth countries. Is knickers reasonably well understood in the USA? Quote Link to comment
happyharry 46
I guess, based on previous replies, this really is a regional thing mostly relating to what we grew up with. Being a Yank, I get turned on by panties but, having seen more WHP vids than I have ants in my garden, knickers definitely does the trick. 'Undies' for either girls or guys is common in the States but has no cool, sexy connotation at all. Quote Link to comment
Damnation 247
Panties for me. I actually only recently learned the word 'knickers'. Quote Link to comment
nappypants 1,403
I like "knickers" better, "panties" is just too American... a bit like "nappy" vs. "diaper", it's the word you grew up with. The more unisex British usage of "pants" for underwear is also fine. Quote Link to comment

I agree about knickers, but as i stated in my post the word panties sounds silly in my accent but i actually prefer the word diaper over nappy even though nappy is the word i grew up with. Don't know why, just do :) Quote Link to comment
DaveG 41
"Knickers" definitely sounds much cuter to me. Quote Link to comment
CyFalc 0
I prefer knickers, but either one is fine. It's not necessary, but would be nice if it was there. Quote Link to comment
