facade 1,947
A lot of people in America say undies... I don't really like words that have the last part of them replaced with "ies", it's just weird. Quote Link to comment

facade 1,947
Would that include 'panties', as derived from 'pants' ? http://www.localhistories.org/underwear.html Yes. Especially that one. I just don't like it, sounds stupid to me. Knickers just sounds weird to me because it doesn't even sound like it should refer to underwear, but like a sports team or a tool. I like underwear because it sounds more serious and I usually prefer seriousness in omorashi. Quote Link to comment
jeanvaljean 87
Panties usually. However, everything that covers a cute pussy is equally sexy Quote Link to comment
boffin 1
I'm from the UK and always used the word knickers up until I started looking on the internet for wetting sites. Initially, I used to type in knicker wetting but very little used to come up. I have ever since used the word panties , but its a shame because I do prefer knickers. Quote Link to comment
madmanmitch 2
In Aus, we just say undies. Being an Aussie like Kay yeah usually it's just undies. I'd say that in literature definitely go with panties though, just seems more innocent to me I guess. Quote Link to comment
canipee 274
This is an odd topic, the UK use 'knickers' and the US use 'panties', and while nobody in America uses the term 'knickers' the same goes for in the UK nobody uses the term 'panties'. What I find interesting though is that people from the UK have accepted the term 'panties', whereas the US dislike the term 'knickers' so why is it that the US aren't as adaptable on the matter? The terms for this fetish do seem to be pretty set in stone though more acceptable as the term panty wetting/piss/messing/poop though, but people just have to brush up on their UK terminology I guess if they're going to fully enjoy some fiction from UK writers. I for one find it kind of rude and ignorant when one side argues, points authority and even laughs at the other on the cultural terms of their writings, I mean everybody knows that in the UK 'fanny' means 'vagina'. I think the UK get a lot more content from the US, whether it be TV, Music, or porn whether it be written or video etc and adopt terminology into our general usage. The US are getting more UK content in the last decade or so but they only become aware of hour lingo, so they know a trousers means pants or a lift means elevator etc ... they don't start to use those terms where as we do, to some degree. Also, "pants" in the UK is generally male underwear so it's easier to accept "panties" as a term for female underwear Quote Link to comment
Beatrix 459
Knickers all the way - I don't like the word panties at all. Even more annoying is when UK wetting sites have the models use panties and it sounds so wrong with the british accents. The only time I use undies is when someone doesn't understand what knickers are. Underwear to me is for a guy only, it sounds weird when a girl uses it. Quote Link to comment
Original Demon 124
Once I learned what "knickers" were, they became interchangeable in my head, so it's not a matter of preference... Quote Link to comment
Jarvis Langley 477
Definitely prefer 'knickers'. It's both sexier and more giggle-inducing (which actually aren't mutually exclusive for me). 'Panties' just sounds a bit weird to me...I dunno why. KayLeigh and Beatrix 2 Quote Link to comment
BunnyButtons 9
To me I feel it natural to say/type "panties" even though wikipedia says different :P But in all honesty, the type that deserves that term are the proper undies that us girls have been wearing since we were originally potty trained ;) not ugly boyshorts or boring thongs :c Quote Link to comment
tt83 5
I am a brit and I don't mind either way, but maybe more inclined towards 'knickers' Quote Link to comment
Gemmy 3,817 Posted August 4, 2013 ✨ Legendary Member Share Posted August 4, 2013 As a brit i have always called them knickers and i prefer that term, however i do use the word panties sometimes, it depends on who im talking to, when im talking to my friends from the states i usually say panties as that is the word the use. In literature i do prefer knickers though, to me it just sounds more girly and when a girl says im going to wet my knickers to me it sounds much more sexy and innocent than saying im going to wet my panties. However as mentioned Undies is another term used but i always associate that with men so if a girl uses it it does nothing for me but when a guy uses that term it turns me on. KayLeigh 327
I just can't see "knickers" as sexy or anything like that... One, it sounds too funny, and two... Over here, if you say knickers, you're probably talking to a girl under the age of 13... So I suppose when it's used in literature, I just... It creeps me a little. Quote Link to comment
nappypants 1,402
I definitely prefer the British words "knickers", "tights" and "nappies" to their American equivalents - while I'm used to the alternatives and don't particularly dislike them, they don't quite stir the same feelings in me as the words I grew up hearing. hskittles 9
I prefer the term panties. I think it sounds cuter, so that's what I use when describing what I wear. Quote Link to comment
fullbladder 1,276
I love the word panties... something about hearing it growing up always got me excited. Quote Link to comment
Anna B 274
I was always brought up just saying pants for undies, and in everyday life still do. (Australia) But so many outer clothes get referred to as pants now that it can be confusing, especially when written. So on places like these I now refer to undies as panties. Quote Link to comment
Wolfie 45
Edit: I googled the term panties and went to the wikipedia page for it. Terminology wise, the UK, Ireland and New Zealand say "knickers", the USA and Canada say "panties" and ONLY Australia says "undies". (: just thought that was interesting. Well how about that? I prefer panties by far - its cuter and sexier, and to me a bit more feminine. Lol I guess that makes me american. Quote Link to comment
neil40001 7
Just like Anna B, I just use 'pants' for underwear - I find it equally used by both men and women in the UK. 'Panties' is almost never used, and has distinctly sexual overtones. Quote Link to comment
Tang 6
Brit here. Girls/women wear knickers. Boys/men wear undies. Though I've head one or two (women) refer to men's underwear as 'knickers' (which creates a whole new level of sexiness, if that floats your boat). Most times I come across the word 'panties' or 'pantyhose' it's likely to be in a sexual context (eg porn), so these terms have become sexualised. Maybe non-UK people might experience a similar phenomena. Cheers. Quote Link to comment

Though I've head one or two (women) refer to men's underwear as 'knickers' (which creates a whole new level of sexiness, if that floats your boat). So men never wear 'knickers"? Also, is undies actually used for men's underwear in common language? In America it's slang, and only really used towards women (in my experience, might be different for other people) Quote Link to comment
Tang 6
@razified There's a clear blue line between them, with the proviso that I've heard the odd ref to male's underwear as being 'knickers'. Of course, there's slang for each too. It could well be different in other parts of the UK though. Quote Link to comment
guywetter 152
I search by panties or underwear. Knickers never cross my mind, although it adds a foreign spice to videos when they say knickers. So, I guess I don't mind it. The only one I cannot stand is when people say underpants. It reminds me of those long, silly suits that people used to wear as underwear in the 1940's! welcomegaffer 11
I live in England, and normally I don't use either, and say underwear or pants. if i'm referring to female's underwear specifically, i'd use "knickers" Quote Link to comment
