Plot Outline

While enjoying a field trip, five ordinary students suddenly find themselves stranded in an unfamiliar world. But it soon turns out that they might not be quite as ordinary as they thought!

You play as Reguma, schoolboy and RPG expert, as he leads his four cute schoolgirl classmates through a grand adventure in a fantastical realm, battling against demon hoards and fulfilling an ancient prophecy. But facing long treks, exhausting fights and sticky situations, will these girls be able to keep their underwear dry?

 

Summary

This is an English translation of the full version of Ao Kurage's wonderful RPG もじクエ (MojiQue) into English.

The project was officially completed on the 10th of September, 2020 with the help of many contributors and supporters! The GitHub page for the translation can be found here.

Uncensor Patch

My Game Won't Work!

PLEASE READ. You may see an error like this:

If so, please follow the instructions below to allow Japanese games to be supported on a non-Japanese Windows PC. Not following these steps is the cause of many error messages encountered when trying to play this game.

  1. Navigate to the Control Panel and go to the Clock and Region section
  2. Click on the Region link
  3. Switch to the Administrative tab
  4. Click on Change system locale...
  5. Open the Current system locale drop down and select Japanese (Japan)
  6. Click OK on the open dialogs, then restart your system

There has also been plenty of discussion around technical issues in this file's comments section already, so please search around before asking.

Many fixes and improvements have been added.

Please extract it to a directory that is separate from any other version of the game. You can still copy any save files from any other version of the game into the root directory (next to the Game.exe).

I started playing this a week ago. Currently, I am still a long way ahead and there are still a lot left to explore. But man, thank you so foking much for the translation. This is really good. I would have regretted it if I have never downloaded this game.

Does anyone know if there's a way to slow down the character walk speed? I really love this game and have played it all the way through, and I want to replay it, however, it feels kinda unrealistic when the characters walk at a sprinting pace. I know Cheatengine has a speedhack, but unfortunately, this slows down all aspects of the game, including the bladder meter.

It just seems that the girls can never really have a genuine accident, as they walk so fast that the toilet is always within reach. I feel like it would be much more realistic if there were a hack I could employ to halve their walking speed.

If I remember correctly, the walking speed is directly tied to bladder filling. As in, the characters' bladders do not fill at all if you stand still.

I do wish there was more of a reason to actually have characters get desperate, though. Toilets are generally so available that the characters in Mojique will only really become desperate if a player is intentionally not using them when they get the opportunity. It's not really anything "objectively bad" or whatever, I'm sure a lot of people find that kind of more sandboxy pee mechanic more fun, where you're in complete control of whether the characters get to pee or not.

The assumption is incorrect. Although reducing total game speed would reduce bladder filling speed too, walking does NOT affect bladder filling speed, it can in fact continue to rise while characters stand still. End-game content includes the ability to see the percentage and ml display live, so I have seen it rising while characters are stood still. Note that in battle however, it does pause and rises after each action instead.

By the way, although it's hard to obtain in quantity before end-game (you can just not save after use one then reload to get it back), diuretic pills have an extra-fast rate which when combined with the smallest bladder on Tomocchi, you could more realistically have them not reach the toilet, more so combined with specific cold locations where the shiver icon is on-screen (faster bladder fill rate) and random battles impeding walking progress.

If you have RPG Maker XP, you can go into the game.rxproj file and add an event that changes the character's movement speed via a move route.  The default in Mojiquest is speed 5, which is called "faster" in XP's move route creator.

As far as I know, doing this shouldn't affect anything else in the game, but the backend is absolutely mad and I'm not really sure how encounter processing actually works, so it might result in you getting encounters more often per step.

 

If you don't have RPG Maker XP, I'd imagine that the move speed is held in a variable somewhere in game, but I have no idea how you'd go about identifying it so that you can change it with something like Cheat Engine.

 

EDIT:  There are a couple of events where Reguma's movement speed changes, and this will be done by changing the value that controls his movement speed in general.  If you can find one of those and then look at which variables change when that part of the event happens, then you might be able to find the location of the movement speed variable and change it yourself.  I haven't used Cheat Engine in literally more than a decade though, so I'm not confident I'm remembering how it works, and of course, things could've changed in that time.

You can use RPG Maker XP to edit the game data at your leisure, but as I mentioned in my previous comment, the backend is mad (and in Japanese, funnily enough), and getting stuff the way you want it might take some work.

It's not actually the backend of the editor itself, but the fact that a japanese author used japanese names for everything, and the omo system is built on those things. As someone who worked on the demo, I'll tell you this: if you value your sanity, don't.

I don't mean the backend in the sense of the RPG Maker base, but rather how this particular game works behind the GUI, and how it's particularly awkward when compared with other RPG Maker games.  For example, the encounters don't use RPG maker's encounter system but instead a system based on the picture display function that runs via a bunch of common events.  The inventory, also, doesn't use RPG maker's inventory system, instead using a bunch of common events and a series of pictures to do the processing.  Mr. Jellyfish has pretty much avoided all of the tools RPG Maker provides to make writing games easy, instead building a bunch of additional systems on top and using RPG Maker more like a general-purpose GUI.

I've fiddled with a bunch of RPG Maker games before, and regardless of what language the creator spoke, none of them have been quite as much of a pain to do stuff with as MojiQuest.

I can't open the game. I already my change my system locale to Japanese. this is weird. I play other RPG like this game before but this particular game won't open for me. Any solution?
