(Just saying this before you read that this specific chapter doesn't have much omo in it... just mainly explaining backstory, you may still read if you like.)

The road was long and hard up the rocky path...

The group of three traveled up a great mountain, basking in the clean, fresh air.

Naniko walked in the front, Goken behind her, and Jiriyuu following. The winds grew stronger, and the sun shined on Naniko's hair, causing it to reflect back the light onto the two warriors' eyes. The reflecting stopped, however, when Naniko looked back at Goken and began speaking to him as they walked...

"So, Goken... please tell me more about you," she spoke.

Goken let out a smile, and said "Me? I've not much to tell about myself, only a mere Ronin."

Jiriyuu rushed in front of Goken as he heard that, and gave off a rather quizzical look at him...

"So... what do you have to get out of the way? Errands? Unfinished business? Or are you just looking for a good spot?" Jiriyuu asked.

Goken looked back at his blue-haired companion(?) with a confused look.

"What are you talking about?" Goken asked back.

Jiriyuu's face became slightly more serious, but not by much.

"Well... if you're a Ronin, that must mean you had a Damiyo at one point, right?" Jiriyuu continued.

"Well yeah, he's been dead for about two years now... rest his soul." Goken replied.

Jiriyuu came to a complete halt, causing Goken to bump into him. His face became one of shock.

"Wait a sec... you mean to tell me that your master has been dead for TWO FUCKING YEARS and you haven't offed yourself yet?!*" Jiriyuu shouted angrily.

"What do you mean? Goken asked confused, "I was going to do it when he died, but..."

Goken's mouth was stalled by the look Jiriyuu had once again changed... this time... a horrifying, death-blowing, evil stare... just staring at Goken. Naniko looked at them worried, for she knew that an evil wind was blowing... and boy was she right, for Jiriyuu grabbed his sword, and before Goken could unsheathe his, Jiriyuu thrusted the back of his sheath onto Goken's jaw, causing him to fall to the dirt. He then grabbed Goken by the chest, placed him onto the rocky wall, and started beating him senselessly.

"YOU DARE BREAK THE CODE OF BUSHIDO?! YOU DON'T EVEN DESERVE TO CALL YOURSELF A WARRIOR! YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A PEASANT WITH A STICK! GIVE ME ONE GOOD REASON WHY I SHOULDN'T KILL YOU!" Jiriyuu screamed at Goken in a fuming rage as he kept on with his blows. Naniko tried to stop Jiriyuu by yelling at him, but it did nothing, for Jiriyuu was too blinded by anger. Jiriyuu, with his fist hotter than Hell itself, threw Goken back onto the ground. He unsheathed his blade, making the sun's rays glimmer off it's edges, and pointed it back at Goken.

"Leave now peasant, for if I EVER see your face again I will personally-"

*SMACK*

Jiriyuu's threat was interrupted by the sound of Naniko's palm swinging across his cheek.

"Do NOT hurt him anymore!" Naniko shouted at Jiriyuu.

Naniko once again rushed to Goken's aid, and assisted him up.

"Please, I'm so sorry," The priestess told Goken, who's face was severely bloodied and bruised. "I don't understand what's gotten into him lately."

Goken rested himself by the rocky wall, still catching his breath, while Naniko wiped off his blood. Jiriyuu only looked at him with his cheek glowing a bright red... he wasn't sure what to say, though I can assure you apologies were not what went through his head, only a burning hatred to Goken... a hatred he hoped he could dispel quickly... with a sword.

"So..." Naniko spoke to Goken awkwardly as she cleaned his face, "How did your master die?"

Goken took a deep breath and said "Well... ... ... like I said, it was two years ago... I remember being there when it happened. I remember having long walks with him. I'd always stay by his side protecting him...

...Funny thing though... that old guy believed he was a psychic."

"Oh did he now?" Naniko replied.

"Yup," Goken continued, "and here's the cool part... every prediction he's ever made has always been correct. Usually when he was out on business he'd go alone, but every time he's asked me to go with him, some crazy shit happens: Muggings, ambushes, even assassination attempts... as if he knew they would happen! He knew when trouble came, he knew when one would become wealthy, he knew when the crops would grow and die, Hell... he even knew the exact day when a child was to be born!"

"Wow!" Naniko spoke astonished, "he sounds like an amazing person."

"Yeah," Goken continuing his story, he even predicted... the day of his own death...

He was laying in his bed, deathly ill... no medicine could cure him. I remember... I was going to take my own life right by his bed, for I failed to protect him... I stuck the tang of my blade into my abdomen when my master used the last of his strength to stop me. He actually wanted me not to take my own life, but rather keep it... he had made one last prediction to me..."

"Keep on living, for I can assure you... there will be another one... another who needs your skills... another who needs you... ... ..." "And then he blew his last breath on me... so staying loyal to him, even in death, I followed his orders to stay alive."

"... I'm so sorry for your loss," Naniko said with pity.

"OH COME NOW MISTRESS!" Jiriyuu shouted in an agitated manner, "A psychic daimyo? Do you honestly believe in such fantasies? THIS MAN IS LYING!"

"I am NOT!" Goken shouted back in oppression, "I even still have the scar from when my master died!" Goken then untied his robes, revealing a small, pink line on his abdomen.

"Oh please, that could have been from anything!" Jiriyuu shouted back again, "Maybe you don't know how to use a sword, so you jus-

"Jiriyuu, ENOUGH!" Naniko yelled angrily, "How about we just get back on track, shall we? After all, our destination isn't to far away from here."

With that in mind, all three continued back up the mountain path...

("I hope we get their soon... I'm in urgent need to pee again.") Naniko thought to herself.

End of Chapter 2

(*: for those who don't know... when a samurai lost their daimyo it was tradition that the samurai commit hari kari, and stay loyal to their master in death. Those who did not take their lives became Ronin, or a samurai with no master.)
