OmoOrg December updates

Hello everyone, I hope you all are staying safe and warm this winter!

This news entry will highlight a few of the updates that have been rolling out to OmoOrg lately.

Discord

Our most recent update; we now have an official OmoOrg Discord server! Anyone with an OmoOrg account is welcome to join and chat with us here, just be sure you read and adhere to our server Rules & Guidelines!

To get an invite, just link your account to the server here:
https://www.omorashi.org/settings/?area=discord

My Kinks / tag updates

We've added a "My Kinks" section to profile pages now! You can edit your personal list by clicking "Edit Profile" on your profile page.

This was in-part inspired by F-List and even adopts many of their descriptors.

Additionally, many of these entries have been added to our tag database, which you can find here:
https://www.omorashi.org/fetish-list/

These entries will automatically be suggested to you when you enter in tags just about anywhere on the site.

Search improvements

We have moved OmoOrg to a dedicated search engine which should improve the accuracy and relevancy of all search queries on OmoOrg. There's still room for improvement here, but this should make searching a lot more usable as a start.

Reputation changes

Notice: Due to increasingly prevalent abuse related issues, access to negative reputation (Downvoting) has once again been restricted to Established Members and up.

It was never actually intended to be opened up to all members, so this is more of an upgrade issue that has now been addressed.

Twitter

This isn't really new, but not many people know that we actually have our own official OmoOrg twitter page too! Naturally, this isn't something to follow on a personal/business Twitter account, but if you have one just for lewds, feel free to give us a follow!

https://twitter.com/OmorashiOrg

That covers all of the major changes and updates over the last few weeks, and we still have more to come!

Sweet! A lot of amazing improvements! Hell, this is showing a hell of a lot more care towards the community than a lot of the sites I've visited, fetish orientated or not! It's incredible!

Finding this site was like a dream come true to me! A place to finally meet and interact with others of the same interests that wasn't so popular among my irl friends!

I love the addition of the kinks setting. It makes it so much easier to see what your friends and others here take interest in, and that I like!

Thank you devs for bringing and introducing one of the most welcoming and greatest sites full of people who have the same interests as me! Thank you OmoOrg!

Thanks for keeping up-to-date on things. ?

I checked out the Discord, but it was much too busy for my tastes, re: having so many channels, so I left.

And a nitpick re: the reputation changes.  Shouldn't it be Contributory and above, since you've now added the Respected tier above Contributory?

Ah, it is, sorry. I just copied that from a post I made before Respected Members were added.

Both Contributory and Respected Members can give negative reputation.

Regarding the downvote power: According to the chart in the Welcome section, this means that the only people who can downvote a post are those who manage to get a whopping 375 upvotes? That sounds unnecessarily restricting. It would make more sense to allow at the very least Established Members, or even just Active members. Getting 75 upvotes (especially if you aren't a content creator) could take quite awhile, and I think those that do probably understand well enough what types of posts are unfit for the site.

EDIT: And as a side note to this, I just checked my own profile and it says I'm an Established Member, despite my reputation score being a mere 92? Are the numbers in the welcome section sticky no longer accurate?

After some consideration, I have decided to grant Established Members access to negative reputation as well.

But this will be the minimum requirement, no other groups will be given access (even if it is widely requested). Active Members will not be granted access to negative reputation.

In regards to your edit, these changes are not retroactive. If you were an Established or Contributory Member before the changes, you will retain that status unless the privileges are abused (in which case accounts will be manually downgraded after a warning is issued).

Wow, I actually agree with what he said about downvotes. It's bringing back memories from the days on Emerald Chat where one could get another banned by spamming downvote. Glad to see OmoOrg solved that issue! ^-^

Thank you for reconsidering. I have not seen the abuse mentioned, but I can definitely see the potential for abuse, especially in the hands of newer accounts. As for the 2nd bit, Established was previously a lower requirement that I had already met? I guess that would explain it, and thank you for allowing me to retain it.

So apologies for the double post, but it seems that I have been retroactively made an Active Member instead of an Established one, which you said above wouldn't occur? Last I checked I did not receive any warnings.
